will be happening. Equipment and trail work needs to start now! Yours truly, Roberta Kemp, V. P.

Welcome to fall! Membership renewals are due. Please submit ASAP to avoid missing out on all the benefits membership offers. You can renew and join our club anytime by vis- iting our website. There isn’t much going on yet but that will be changing soon. We have a big bridge project on the horizon as well as other trail issues to address. We have planned our annual Vintage Snowmobile Ride-In and Show for Saturday February 26th. Mark your calendars now! This will also function as our Landowner Appreciation. All Landowners will be honored. We would not exist without them! It’s always a good time. How to find us: We are located at 262 Long Hill Road in Orrington. Our mailing address is PO Box 202, Orrington, ME 04474. Our contact phone number is 207-852-8000. You can also find us on social media including Facebook, Ins- tagram and Twitter. That’s where you will get the most updated information. Our meetings take place the first Tuesday of each month through April. See you soon! Laurie LaViolette President Winter snow is right around the corner and we are gearing up for a busy winter. Our sec- ond annual pig roast was a big hit on Fly-In week (the second week of September) and we also sold a fair amount of super raffle tickets. All this helps to pay for a new groomer that we are trying to close the deal on as we speak. At some point dumping tens of thousands of dollars into an old groomer no longer makes good financial sense. Everyone looks to be the first to ride on a newly groomed trail but here are some facts to consider. Our drags smooth out the moguls and pull snow to the middle of the trail during nightly maintenance that usually begins right after dinnertime ending around midnight. The action of tumbling that snow softens it up and lays it flat prior to it refreezing. Night riding while exhilarating, establishes tracks and the appearance of an ungroomed surface when it hardens the next morning. Groomer operators each have their own “close call” story to tell about their equipment and snow machines. So, if you want good trails in the morning, stay off them at night. Here at the Paul Bunyan Snowmobile Club we are still working away at getting our trail system ready for the coming winter riding season! All the rain has definitely slowed our progress, but we are getting there! We have a couple of bridge and trail repair projects to tend to, but overall, aside from finishing bush hogging, our trail system is in pretty good shape for the coming season! We are getting as many super raffle tickets sold as we can, with a couple members in particular really pushing hard on this endeavor! Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you want to get in on this awesome raffle this year! We hold our club meetings the second Wednesday of each month and hope to have more of our 2021-2022 plans solidified as fall continues! Check our Facebook page for news and updates as things progress! Don’t forget to join your local club, and help out when you can. Our trails are a labor of love, and we can’t do it all without YOU!!! Here’s to lots of snow and a great riding season coming up! Sincerely, Paul Phillips - President PAUL BUNYAN sc Bangor, ME

We haven’t had a meeting yet, but are plan- ning one for October. Check our Facebook page for updates. Some trail work has been happening, still lots more to do. Memberships and raffle tickets have been sent out and are coming back into club. With the rainy spring and summer we had, everyone is hoping for a nice snowy winter. With our craft fair and pancake breakfast being cancelled again this year, these are our biggest fund raisers so we will be looking for some new ideas. Don’t forget to send back your member- ships and tickets, please keep in touch through Facebook. Thank you, ANASC. Hello Fellow Snowmobilers, As we continue to encounter pandemic issues, we hope for opportunities to get out- doors. Check Facebook for meeting updates. At this time, October 23rd is the target date for our first club meeting. The venue is yet to be determined as is the Christmas Party planned for December 11. Notice will be placed on our Facebook page. Plans are also going forward for the Snowfest on February 12, 2022. Dan and Amy are hoping to open the Barr- rap Shack on Dunbar Hill on weekends once the trails are safe to sled. Outdoor enjoyment can be had by contact- ing Jay Wilson, Trailmaster, at 207-566-5330 for trail work assistance. Enjoy the Fall. See you at the Snowmobile Show and hopefully at a meeting. Be safe, Your Cub Reporter WESTERN REGION EMBDEN TRAVELERS, sc North Anson, ME Find us on Facebook Happy Autumn from Pejepscot Sno-Chiefs! The leaves changing into their brilliant col- ors means a sure thing - winter is approaching! Time to make your sledding plans! We kicked off this club season with a cookout at the clubhouse on Sept.19th, with 9 of us pres- ent. The food was good as always, and Chris brought his corn hole boards so Team Randall could smoke the competition! We held a brief meeting following lunch, and discussed some upcoming events. Mark your calendar now for our World’s Greatest Sleigh Ride on Feb. 20, 2022 - yes folks, the current plan is to once again hold our favorite fundraising event! Please help us make it one of our best yet! Trail work commences the first Sunday in October, any and all help is appreciated. It’s a great way to get your steps in for all of you, like me, wearing a FitBit these days! We meet at the clubhouse at 8am, if you need more info, call me at 729-6337. We decided to have dinner meetings through the Fall, starting with venison stew on Oct. 11, at 7pm, at the clubhouse in Lisbon Falls. I plan to make plenty, so come on out and join us! We would love new ideas, new friends, or “old” friends, all are welcome! And the clubhouse is heated, remember! Nov.9th will be corn chow- der, and our Dec. 7th meeting will be lobster stew and a yankee swap, which is always hilari- ous! We moved this meeting up one week so as to not conflict with other Christmas festivities. So, here’s to another Super Season Snowmo- biling, all we need now is SNOW!! Until then, I’ll be putting my garden to bed and chasing whitetails with my crossbow- stay safe everyone and enjoy this beautiful time of year! It would appear the heat wave has ended, especially by the time this newsletter arrives in our mailboxes. As this letter is written it is mid-September and we have had some rain. Although our motto tends to be “THINK SNOW” this area of the state has needed rain badly due to the last couple of years of drought. The Readfield Blizzard Busters will have had a couple of early season meetings by the second week in October. Our first meeting was held on September 15th, 7 PM, at the Weathervane Restaurant. With the exception of the October meeting, which will be Tuesday October 5th, all subsequent meetings should be on the first Wednesday of each month. Those meetings will also be held at 7 PM at the Weathervane Restaurant. Please come and join us, your participation and help are always welcome. Our Facebook page can be checked for any meeting updates. Normally trail preparation for the Blizzard Busters starts around the second weekend in October. This year club members Bill Brann, Peter Zarella and Kirk Gettig have already completed the construction of a new bridge. Pictures are available on our Facebook page. On September 17th Peter Zarella, Trail Mas- ter, took delivery of a 2021 Yamaha Kodiak ATV. The Yamaha is equipped with tracks and the necessary accessories for pulling a drag. A welcome addition to the club’s grooming abili- ties, the new machine will be replacing a well- used older snowmobile. Don’t forget to attend the 2021 Maine Snow- mobile Show at the Augusta Civic Center October 22-24. Some new sleds on display, as well as a room full of antique machines. Ven- dors galore selling all sorts of accessories. My favorites are the folks promoting their areas and destination spots. Also available will be the latest trail maps. On October 24th the Readfield Blizzard Busters will be delivering their annual Land- owners Appreciation Supper. As we did last year the plan is to deliver meals rather than have a “dine in.” Some club members have already been ironing out the details and send- ing out invitations. Until the next time, THINK SNOW! Marge and Lee Livingston Club reporters Greetings Trailblazers, September’s meeting was dedicated to our membership night. Our member, as well as Monmouth firefighter and Winthrop EMS, TJ Siderio did a presentation on Life Flight. He provided us with information from their website, as well as information from his own experiences. This was interesting and useful information for us if we were ever in need of assisting with the logistics with Life Flight transport. It is one more piece of a puzzle we hope, as snowmobilers, nobody will ever need but a critical tool to have to go along with our rescue-boggan training. A big THANK YOU to TJ! I would also like to thank everyone that attended and renewed their memberships as well as the new members that joined that night as well. We look forward to seeing you at future meetings and events. Another important event that we have had for several years, is our snowball raffle fund- raiser. It is our largest fundraiser and by Octo- ber we will begin selling tickets. We ask (beg) everyone to help sell some tickets. The past few years we have had to rally at the last min- ute to get these tickets sold. I believe in the saying, “many hands make light work”. So, please everybody, lend a hand! Lastly, watch your emails for other up to date information of projects and events that COCHNEWAGAN TRAILBLAZERS Monmouth, ME

Ahh, its finally autumn, the leaves are bright and colorful and beginning to cover our lawns. The mornings are crisp and wonderful, and we all know it’s only a matter of time before the “white gold” will begin falling from the sky! Happy days will soon return, but before they do there is still a lot of pre-season preparation to be done. This fall, we have 3 bridges that need re-decking and a culvert that to needs to be installed. The materials have been sourced, but we will need help from our community on a couple of weekends soon to get these proj- ects completed. Additionally, this season, we would like to devote significant attention to the section of trail from the suspension bridge connecting Hartland’s Smokey’s Angels trail system and ITS 84 to our clubhouse. This will provide a better corridor trail to connect ITS 84 to Skowhegan with ITS 85 in Dexter. Our goal is to give riders a fun short-cut route through Central Maine that avoids some problematic sections of ITS 84 in lower snow seasons. In other news, we are excited to be hosting our first annual Open House and Swap Meet at our clubhouse, located at 9 Bryant Road, St. Albans, ME 04971, on Sunday, October 17th from 10am to 4pm. We will have an awesome live band playing, out kitchen will be open, and there will surely be lots of “treasure” to be found at the swap meet. Best of all, it’s FREE to attend and sell! Sellers, please contact our Club President, Chris Ring at 207-949-8782 or christopherkring@gmail.com to reserve a spot. Donations are welcomed/encouraged, but either way, we’d love to have you check out our club. And last, but not least, the event all of us vintage geeks have been waiting for is finally here: The Vintage Assault on Devils Head Mountain! This ride and show will take place on Saturday, February 19th and will feature a picnic stop at the Native American historical site on top of Devil’s Head Mountain over- looking Great Moose Lake. Please consider joining our club, liking our page, facebook.com/snodevilsmaine and join- ing our Facebook group for trail reports and club events: “St. Albans Sno-Devils Snowmo- bile Club & Trail Reports”. Thank you! C. Ring, President www.cobbosseeconteesnowmobileclub.com As the fall weather approaches, members are gearing up for trail work, assessing needs and wants for the coming season. Thanks to MSA for providing us with list of registered snowmobiles in West Gardiner. Letters and membership forms were sent to the 168 poten- tial members. November 3rd will be our first breakfast at 7 a.m. with trail work follow to at 8 a.m. Club meets year round and thanks to the Rhotens and McFarlands for hosting cook- outs. We have some mighty fine cooks and bakers and enjoyed every bit of it. Annual camping trip to Cathedral Pines in September is always fun and Chuck’s bacon over the open fire is a huge hit. The club meets 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m., 3rd Tuesday’s potluck sup- per is held at 6:15 p.m. with meeting to fol- low. Did I mention we have some mighty fine cooks/bakers? Any high school student in need of commu- nity service, contact Dave Cogley, Trailmas- ter for dates/times to help.
