ure a way to make more money for the club. For many years, the Pathfinders had go-kart and lawnmower racing which really buffered our bank account and allowed us to buy some newer equipment. Unfortunately, the volunteer numbers dwindled, so we haven’t been able to race in four years. Well, a group of the guys decided it was time to bring back racing. The track has been upgraded and we are hoping to get at least one race in before it gets too cold, but next year we will be looking to be back in the game for ten races. We’ve also been very successful in selling food items at the annual Old Orchard Beach car show. I can’t thank the volunteers enough for their extremely hard work in raising funds for the club!

doing trailwork we took a couple of weekends cleaning up trash. Thanks to the members who were involved. Thanks to our supporting businesses and memberships who keep us going strong. Thanks all, Ben Scott The 2021 thru 2022 is off to a great start in Southern Maine. We have had our first two meetings and have scheduled the start to trail work for Sunday October 17th, weather permitting. We meet at the Sanford Fish and Game building at 499 Country Club Rd at 8 AM and will continue every Sunday until snow flies. Our club meetings are at the same location at 7 PM on the second Thursday of every month, the next being October 14th. We will also be at York Harvest fest on October 16th selling raffle tickets. Hope everyone is having a great start to the season and this will be a great winter! Stephen Givens Southern Maine Sno-Goers Hello Everyone! Our club has already had our first meeting with the main topic of con- versation trail and bridge maintenance. Plans are underway to repair or rebuild the three short bridges in the area of Snow Road and a longer bridge at the end of our trail system near Route 136. We have also started bush hogging and trimming of a few trails. At one of the last meetings of 2020, it was decided to move the club meetings from the end to the beginning of the month, from Tues- day to Thursday with an earlier start time of 6 PM. This change will allow the club to get a jump on trail maintenance in the fall and pro- vide for a more productive meeting at the end of the season. Club membership drive is underway with several new members at this early stage which is a good sign. We are always looking to wel- come new members of all ages to the club. Club meetings are held at the Acacia Lodge on Rt. 136 in Durham, not far from the Get N Go, typically on the first Thursday of the month at 6 PM. Please join us! Our Facebook group page can be found at Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club please check the page for the latest club news, trail reports and updates, we welcome all to join! WELD WINTER WILDCATS Weld, ME www.facebook.com/weldwinterwildcat TheWildcats had the first meeting of the sea- son with a visit from Joe Higgins from Maine Snowmobile Association. Joe explained to us how the funding and grants work for the club. We also discussed what trails we will be work- ing on this season. Looking into grooming over Day Mountain for this season, pending Land Owner permissions and logging opera- tions. After Joe’s visit we reviewed how to use the trail work and grooming logs for the season. We discussed timing of the excava- tion of the “dreaded hill” to be worked on before the snow flies. We also will be putting together work crews soon to review trails for fall clean up. Anyone who wants to volunteer to assist, please contact Randy Serino, Trail Master. Membership forms are available at the Skool House Variety in Weld to join the club. We also have MSA Raffle Tickets! Hello everyone, it’s that time of year again. We are excited for another season. Trail work is in the planning, our first work day is Octo- ber 2nd and our next meeting is October 12th, all are welcome to attend. We have a lot of work to do but are excited to add a couple new trails to our system. We have a couple bridges to build, hopefully weather cooper- ates. Let’s hope for a lot of snow and a great riding season. We are always looking for help and members if anyone is looking for a club to join. Good luck to everyone as we get ready for this winter. Our monthly meetings are always the first Thursday of the month at 7 pm at the Nazarene Church Main St in Strong. We encourage all those interested in the sport to join us. This is the time of year we roll out our Membership Drive. We hope to get your support this year as in the past. The trail mongers are getting their chain saws sharpened and we’ll be heading out every Sunday until snow flies. Even if you can’t get out with the regular group, take a walk on a trail and if you see something that needs attention, bring it to the attention of your club. Greetings, Here we are into October and our trail work is in progress as I write this. As I said in the past if anyone is interested in help- ing out on the trails, we meet every Sunday morning at George Berry’s Garage 132 Miles Square Road in Phillips @ 8 AM. Some mem- bers have been out surveying what we have for brushing and what we have for bridge repairs. Our club meeting schedule is as fol- lows: October 3rd, November 7th , December 5th, January 2nd , February 6th , March 6th and April 3rd. As of this writing I’m not sure where our meeting place will be but I will pub- lish the location prior to October’s meeting on Facebook. Our Scholarship for 2021 was awarded to Ben Carrol of Dixfield. Congrat- ulations Ben for your hard work! Not much else to say since we haven’t had our October meeting yet. Think snow! David Greely, Vice President Hello MSAMembers, Our first meeting of the new season showed strong support for the Club as 28 people attended the Potluck Supper and meeting. Blaine Chapman, President, called for a moment of silence to commemorate the 20-year anniversary of 9/11. He then announced that the club had lost a long time member, Scott Brill, brother of Steve Brill and a second moment of silence was observed. The groomers are still in storage, but they are in great shape and ready to go! Blaine addressed last season’s closing of a section of ITS 89, and said that our Club will be print- ing signs to post along local trails, reminding snowmobilers to respect the landowners. It only takes one bad rider to close a trail. As in most years, we will need to adjust to local con- ditions and reroute some trails. Be sure to get a copy of our new trail map when it becomes available, to see any changes. BRIDGTON EASY RIDERS Sumner, ME MSA presented a plaque to our Club, to recognize us as having the 10th largest mem- bership in the State, with 156 members! Bob Corthell, Vice President, presented the plaque to Blaine Chapman, President, and Kathy Hendrix, Membership. (Below) Our Club was also #1 in sales of Super Raffle Tickets last year. Blaine Chapman and Jackie Barber, Sec- retary, have already been selling Super Raffle Tickets at Hayes True Value. Congratulations to everyone who sold Super Raffle Tickets. There is a lot of enthusiasm in this Club! The Club voted to reinstate the Rally that was cancelled last year because of Covid. The date will be Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at the Bridgton Community Center. Work on the maps is progressing and we expect them to be printed in December. George and Dianne Pelosso donated two used snowmobiles to the Club for use as a fund raiser. Please call Blaine if you are inter- ested in the sleds. Membership packets are in the mail along with 24 Super Raffle Tickets. Our next meeting will be on Friday, October 8th, at Bridgton Community Center. 6 PM pot- luck supper followed by 6:45 business meet- ing. All are welcome. See us on Facebook. Bill Preis, BER Club Correspondent

Lastly, we want to thank the MSA directors for holding their September meeting at our club. We served up burgers, fries, and the best clam cakes east of the Mississippi, as well as more desserts than a small army could eat. It’s nice getting the MSA leadership to come to this part of the state so we can hear firsthand what is going on in our sport. Without them, our sport would be a disorganized mess in this state.

Cheers Doug Doherty, President
