redecked and rails put on. Overall, it was a good start for our trail work weekends and trail work will continue through November. We also held a landowner dinner at the Lim ington Town Hall. We had 20 landowners and their families to enjoy a pasta dinner. A good turnout considering the remnants of hurricane Lee blowing through. Our members elected some new faces on our board. It sure has been a rainy
early summer and as I write this, it has been raining again for the past few days, hopefully that will mean lots of snow this winter. The club had its first meeting last week to start planning a few bridge repairs and discuss trail status. A new bridge is needed near the Pownal Center to connect to the Royal River Trails. A bridge is also required near Flor ida Lake. The existing bridge near Kendra’s house may need a new approach and will be inspected soon. Certain areas of the trail that crosses a driveway may have to be rerouted. The club will research purchasing a new Shelter Logic garage to store some equipment. The expenditure was approved last spring and will move forward soon. Work has been progressing on moving the Chandler Brook Bridge closer to reality. A construction com pany is interested in providing a bid and the
design is being finalized to bring the cost down into budget. I am happy to announce that at our last meeting of the year this spring, Jan Litchfield a long time member and groomer was selected as “member of the year” for the second year in
a row!. This is well deserved as Jan not only grooms but attends most meetings, stores and moves equipment and helps on almost all trail projects. Congratulations Jan! We are always looking to welcome new members of all ages to the club. Club meet ings are held at the Acacia Lodge on Rt. 136 in Durham, not far from the Get N Go, typically on the first Thursday of the month at 6 PM. Please join us! Our Facebook group page can be found at Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club please check the page for the latest club news, trail reports and updates, there is a link on the page to join the club online, we wel come all to join! Almost time to check your gear! Richard Nadeau Member
