Aging Volunteers in Snowmobile Clubs

T he passion of snowmobil ing is like no other and the reasons we fell in love with the sport are different for every one but my friends things must change or we could be facing a breakup. The clubs that main tain the trails and club infra structure for snowmobilers are facing a challenge: they’re aging volunteers. Although mon etary donations are important to clubs please keep in mind that in most clubs there is a core group of “workers” who do all of the work whether it be contacting landowners, building/maintain are not enough new volunteers to replace them. The lack of volunteers is having a significant impact on snowmo bile clubs. In some cases, clubs have been forced to reduce the number of trails they groom or close trails altogether. Hence the breakup!

These are often the same group of people who began all of the work mentioned above starting in late August and now will begin to lay down the white carpet for you in January. The workload is insurmount able and we need YOUR help! So please don’t just reach into your pocket, reach out to your local club ask them how you can help and donate a few hours of your time. $30
