With heavy hearts, we acknowledge the passing of four of our very active members of the Leeds Stump Thumpers SC this past year. Mike Murphy, Steve Page, Phil Crain and Mitch Adams. “Those who have touched our lives, stay in our hearts forever” By Brad Barker, President of the Leeds Stump Thumpers SC
Mike had been trail master since we rebooted in 1989. He would take care of the south end of town trail system, always speaking his hon- est opinion and getting it done, right up to the end. Mike and his wife Gerri hosted 27 land- owner appreciation dinners at their garage. Mike Murphy with wife Gerri
Mitch was always a phone call away for help, and would bring honest input to the meet- ings. One of my fondest memories was when he would bring a canoe to our sliding parties. These four have brought so much positivity to our club, and their memories live on. Their hard work and dedication have been immeasurable. Mitch Adams
Phil became active in 2016, his wife asked me to find something for him to do, “He’s driving me crazy.” Well, challenge accepted! He and I became the best of friends. He would be up for just about anything, a 200 mile run to the Monks for a MSA meeting or putting concrete forms together for a bridge deck, and trail work that he took real pride in. When our trails were inspected, he got the compliment for signage “NONE BETTER”. Phil Crain
Steve was our safety director ever since that position was opened in 2003, and kept track of our raffle tickets. Somehow his wife Deb- bie was the Super Raffle Grand prize winner a few years ago. She was our second grand prizewinner from Leeds. Steve Page
