The Backwoods Veterans Snowmobile Ride By Alan Swett

T he Backwoods Veterans Foundation was founded in 2020. To serve and honor Veter ans many events are held to give back to these folks. One in partic ular is the Backwoods Veterans Snowmobile Ride, this ride starts at Piston Farms in Rockwood and stops for a homemade lunch at the Borders Riders Snowmobile Clubhouse in Jackman. A group

of over 40 riders took part in this year’s event. It was a heartwarm ing time. Meeting these folks was an incredible experience ending in a “good feeling day”. Shawn Mills did another great job putting this together the 3 rd Annual Ride to honor our veter ans and it was another adven ture that began and ended with no one getting hurt. Only big

smiles and full bellies on a cold winter’s day. These heroes are special people and Shawn being the drive behind it is a blessing, he knows how to get it done. Thank you Jackman Border Rider’s for your fine food and supporting this annual event, thank you Veterans for making it a special snowmobile day.
