Blue Ridge Riders SC Honors Mike Hebert By: Michael Hoyt
W e would like to take a minute and recognize long time member, Mike Hebert, who passed away this year. We have dedicated a portion of the in-town trail to Mike, who lived down by Brassua Lake. Mike’s good friend, Bobby Clark pictured here, shared some words about Mike. Mike was introduced to the great Maine wilderness in the Moosehead area by his family. Through his grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts, he grew to love the hunting, fishing, hiking, boating and snowmobiling that the remote area offered. He then introduced it to his friends and family. You could see him physically relax as we got north of Newport heading “uptah” camp. One of his favorite sayings was, “some of the best stories start with someone doing some thing stupid.” We’ve made many memories out here on the trails creating the best stories. He would be very happy to have know that this trail was dedicated to him.
