So, with winter coming I would ask every body to register your snowmobiles! Get your sleds serviced and start doing your snow dance! Hope to see you on the trails or at our clubhouse. Troy G Trail grunt Greetings fellow snowmobile enthusiasts, Here in Penobscot County (state of MAINE) in Glenburn-just northwest of Bangor, our “small but mighty” club has been busy, attend ing MSA Directors Meetings-in some rather remote parts of the state, that we never knew existed, such as Limerick & Lexington. Both of these clubs have hosted these meetings recently, and a few of us were lucky enough to visit them. Limerick had just received a NEW SKI-DOO SKANDIC SUPER WIDE GROOMING SLED through a grant pro gram(looks GREAT ) and only a year behind schedule, ( supply chain issue ) .It was kind of different to have the meeting outdoors, but the roaring fire pit , and the great meal served soon took our minds off the late fall chill. Nice to have members from further away to be able to join via ZOOM. Thanks to Larry and Eileen for the ride -share, Marion, Gail, and I really appreciated the ride down and back home. The next MSA DIRECTOR ‘S MEETING was held in Lexington (no not MASSACHU SETTS) it’s in MAINE -between MADISON & KINGFIELD. Again, we had the pleasure of Larry and Eileen navigating and getting us all to the NEW CLUBHOUSE. It was small, but spacious, very friendly atmosphere & the meal was again well worth the ride. Sorry, no ZOOM this time (no INTERNET service), 28 in attendance plus 8 HIGHLANDERS(1 lucky member even won the 50/ 50 raffle) I think that he may have even made a donation to “ JERRY’S KIDS “ -got you JERRY M. In between all that, our members have busy selling MSA SUPER RAFFLE TICKETS, hosted a 10 -club trails meeting, working on trails each Sunday, replacing bridges (2 so far ) pictures enclosed, and looks like 2 more to complete before the SNOW arrives. We also have been renting out the clubhouse for social events (contact EDDIE P. for more informa tion and available dates). GLENBURN LAKESIDE RIDERS sc Glenburn, ME

Also, we have made a donation to the town, to help needy families in NOVEMBER, and a donation will be made in DECEMBER to those in need as well. On the subject of who is getting NEW sleds this season-looks like Chris C. already has his, but Chuck L. (same sled -same manufacturer) is still awaiting his, maybe Chris will share until Chuck’s does arrive. And last, but certainly not least on the topic of NEW MEMBERS, looks like Polly & Jeff G. will be proud new grandparents ( their daughter Tisha ), just after the NEW YEAR. CONGRATULATIONS to you all. I think Jeff has already snow -checked a NEW ARCTIC CAT Z-120 just in case. That’s about it for this time -FROMALLOF US AT GLRSC-we wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a SAFE SNOWMOBILE SEASON. P.S. -Don’t forget the MSA SUPER RAF FLE DRAWING in AUGUSTA on TUES DAY, DECEMBER 13th, 2022 -good luck to all.. Just filling in, BARRY E. RYAN VICE -PRESIDENT GLRSC. SVSC has continued to hold monthly meet ings throughout fall and attendance continues to be robust! Thanks to all the club members that come out to support us in our endeavors. The trail crew continues all their hard work prepping equipment, bushhogging trails, re-routing where necessary, working with landowners, making stakes and getting ready to sign and stake the trails. See you next month. Janet Murphy Membership Chair/Director Welcome to winter! The warm weather of early November has been replaced by more seasonable cold weather with a little snow. A good cold snap to chill the ground would be great and then... let it snow! The bulk of our trail work is done except for a pesky beaver who keeps plugging a culvert and the inevitable blow downs that we will clear as they happen. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that there will be no major trail changes. Some other area clubs are having some trail difficulty. We wish them well. We have several new folks who are inter ested in operating groomers, so we are in very good shape at this point. Carey is planning some training sessions in a local pit to get peo ple familiar with the controls and maintenance before they venture out on the trails. Like every other club we are hoping for no break downs, plenty of snow, and cheap diesel. Welcome to the several new faces we have seen at the last couple of meetings. We have no club meeting in December. The next one is Saturday, January 21st at Brad Scott’s house. Our meetings are at 7pm. We have a little BYOB, potluck dinner at 6pm and it’s always a good time. All are welcome! Mike Hoyt PINE TREE sc Milford , ME Hello Family and Friends, BLUE RIDGE RIDERS sc Rockwood, ME

GRAND LAKE sc Grand Lake Stream, ME

Thanks to Trail Master Les, his grooming helpers, the state, the town, and all those who work for or are just part of the club, we got a new snowmobile. Les found a nice black, 900cc Ski-Doo (above). You should hear it when Les fires it up. You can’t. The club plans to have another raffle, with similar items as last year’s raffle. All the items are things you can use this winter. The Pine Tree Store and I will keep you posted. If you plan to work on our trail system, always check in with Les well ahead of time. He will know current trail conditions, like if there is a downed tree, or any other emer gency. He may want you to handle it. Plus, Les assigns club work snowmobiles and knows the vacancy schedule, like if someone else is later scheduled to use that snowmobile for club work purposes that you are about to grab without planning with Les. The club is planning to rebuild the Hayes Brooke Bridge. It would be great to see our experienced bridge crew and many new help ers, hard at work. I heard they take along a chef when they go off on work details. The Snow Rabbit and other club equipment needs basic maintenance. Les, Ace Mechanic Kenny and I have started and there are lots of things to do. Check in with Les for any planned work and then you can join right in. PINE TREE STORE: Hours 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 796-5027. Always remember, “You can’t go wrong at The Pine Tree Store”. HELP NEEDED: Call 796-5027, Les, Brinda, or store worker. TRAIL PROBLEM: Call 796-5027, Les. He will solve or assign the problem. LODGING: Call 796-5027, Les, Brinda, or store worker. Please ride our trails and make our friendly little town a stop on your snowmobile adven tures. I guarantee you will come back. mikere millard@mgemaine.com As I write this, we just got our first snow fall in the area with consecutive nights below freezing. Winter is actually going to make an appear ance soon! We still have much work to get done before we are ready to open the trails. Trails Trail work has begun. We meet every Sun day at the club starting with the first Sunday of October. We haven’t missed a Sunday yet with our small but dedicated crew. So far, we have replaced a bridge that partially washed away, did a trail reroute which involved build ing a new bridge, brushed many miles of trail. Trailmaster Larry has been mowing and bush hogging along with filling in low areas with wood chips. We would like to thank one of our founding members Dick C for sharpening/ EASTERN MAINE SNOWMOBILERS Holden, ME EasternMaineSnowmobilers.com Find us on Facebook
