We have a new bridge to build this year and over 60 miles of trail to inspect and clear from summer blow downs. Last year we did our first “Maddie” moon light ride and it was a big hit with the town. We are planning on doing this event again this year and will post it on our facebook page. Stay tuned for more details and dates! John Merriman and Faye Zukowski began reviewing the Bylaws and working on changes which will need to be approved by the mem bership at the annual meeting. Jon Lewis and Christine Wargo have cre ated a budget for the upcoming season and without membership, donations and business sponsorships none of this would be possible. We are looking at a budget of approximately $351,000 this year. Trail maintenance days have been set as October 14th, and November 5 th and 6 th email jonlewis2@verizon.net Ashley Quimby and Chris Wargo have been working on transferring the Quickbooks over to online version. This will allow for a stream lined and accurate bookkeeping. We want to thank the Town of Rangeley, Rangeley Plantation and Sandy River Planta tion for the municipal donations appropriated to the club. The board will hold monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month, please feel free to attend in person or via zoom. EASTERN REGION Hi to all, Quadcounty SC is gearing up for the 2022 2023 season. The trail grant application has been sent in and the groomer maintenance is almost done. Thanks to Curt Turner, Bob Jacobs, Danny Smith and Kevin O’Brien for installing the extremely heavy tracks. The huge rainstorm a couple of weeks back, plus a bunch of beavers have washed out several cul verts and roads. We will start doing trail work on Sundays, meeting at the clubhouse at 8:30 and leave from there, hope to see you there. All you need to bring is warm clothes, boots and gloves, we can furnish the tools. Quadcounty is serving Hunter’s breakfast, the first three Saturdays of November at the clubhouse, 6-10am. On Thanksgiving Day, we are again serving our FREE Thanksgiving Dinner,1-4pm. QUAD COUNTY sc Springfield, ME

Trail Master Les is very happy and I’m sure all of us that know Jane is happy as well. If you plan to work on our trail system, always check in with Les well ahead of time. He will know current trail updates, like if there is a downed tree, or any other emergency. He may want you to handle it. Plus, Les assigns club work snowmobiles and knows the vacancy schedule, like if someone else is later scheduled to use that snowmobile your about to grab. The club is planning to rebuild the Hayes Brooke Bridge. It would be great to see this same crew at work with lots of new helpers. I heard this crew eats pretty good. The Snow Rabbit needs basic maintenance. Check in with Les for any planned work. Once he gets the parts and filters the guys will be at it. Someone made a street sign for our new trail leading to West Grand Lake. It’s now called ICE HOUSE ROAD. “Good job.” Trail Master Les is having a good time run ning the show and has again put in a lot of work hours and made the club some important grooming money. Many other club officials and volunteers have also done a lot of work. I and I’m sure others would like to say, “Thank you”. Now a day’s my snowmobiling is just weekly checking on three camps, eight miles in the woods. I didn’t go as much last year. It could be because the season ended maybe three weeks early due to rain, warm tempera tures, and lack of snow storms. I bet almost everyone rode less. So, it’s time to think about fixing that snow mobile or upgrading. Whatever you decide, I hope to, “See you soon”. PINE TREE STORE: Hours 7:00AM to 6:00 PM, 796-5027. Trail work started the first Sunday of Octo ber and continues to meet every Sunday until grooming starts. We just had our Land Owner Appreciation dinner. November is just around the corner!!! Our October meeting was the annual Land Owner Appreciation dinner. What a great turn out! A roast pork meal with potato, gravy, carrots, salad, roll and Homemade pies! Free for our landowners as a token of appreciation! After all there would be no trails without the landowners allowing us to use their property year after year for our trail system. Thank you! And thank you to all of our club members who made it possible again! Trails We meet every Sunday morning at the club house at 7:30 a.m. Depending upon turnout we break into teams and hit the woods before 8:00 a.m. We have approximately 80 miles of trail that needs to be walked, brushed out

The 2022/23 riding season is starting to heat up and we have some news on the trail changes in the Greenville area. The first area is in the vicinity of the Masonic Lodge on Pritham Ave. The trail will now be diverted to use the Red Cross Beach pathway almost to the roadway where it will cross to Spruce Street. The second area is in the downtown area where riders previously would enter the town and park along the road. This has become too congested and riders will now be directed to park either on the lake or away from the imme diate pedestrian and vehicle traffic. We will attempt to make this change as rider friendly as we can, however, walking a few more steps will be required. In both cases we will have signage to help with your travels. Speaking of visiting the Greenville area, we strongly encourage everyone to make reserva tions now for your overnight stay. The best place to find accommodations is by checking “destinationmooseheadlake.com”. Events, where to eat, sleep, shop, find maps or buy fuel is included at this site for the greater Green ville area. The Moosehead Lake area is truly a mecca for winter sports giving riders the opportunity to branch out and travel more than 100 miles in every direction. Once the lake freezes up it provides a 42 mile straight run north and south. With a base camp in Greenville, you can ride to Canada, The County or even to our neigh boring states. And don’t forget a short trip to our historic B-52 Memorial crash site. Many riding opportunities are very remote such as to The Trains on Eagle Lake. The time to check your equipment for needed servicing is now, not when you are deep in our 4,378 square mile Piscataquis County many miles from the nearest road. We hope you all have enjoyed this beautiful summer. The season is beginning to change and we are gearing up for the upcoming snow mobile season. We would like to introduce our 2022-2023 Officers: Lee Libby, President Mike Koob, Vice President Ashley Quimby, Treasurer Danielle Ellis, Secretary John Lewis, CoTrailMaster Christine Wargo, Co Trail Master Board of Directors: Mary Archer, Tyler Philbrick, Jake Beaulieu John Merriman, Faye Zukowski, Brian Clark, Teddy Leahy, William Kelly, Brian Kelly We reorganized over the summer and have held a few meetings. Lee Libby, President has established subcommittees to begin work on all things needed. We would like to thank Matt Kennedy for his continued work and dedication to our club. He plays a very important role as the mechanic, groomer operator and trail mainte nance person. Jake Beaulieu along with a cou ple volunteers have been working diligently with Matt getting the groomers prepared for the upcoming season. The Groomer barn has received some volunteer work on the lighting and some window upgrades. With donations collected at Clarkies pig roast we are able to continue his legacy and maintain the groomer barn. Brian Clark and Teddy Leahy have been working on building kiosks and will also be updating trailside signage. Mike Koob has been contacting some of our large landowners to continue to maintain a good relationship for the club. Faye Zukowski, Danielle Ellis and William Kelly have been working on a new website which should be launching very soon. This website will be our portal for membership renewals

GRAND LAKE sc Grand Lake Stream, ME Welcome everyone to the 2022-2023 Snow mobile Season.

President Brad had nice aluminum intersec tion signs made. Trail Master Les and crew put them up at planned intersections on our trail system. Other type signs have also been made. Plus, these signs are guaranteed bullet proof. The club held a successful and happy raf fle at our March meeting. The winners were: Ice Auger, Dale Johnson; Wood Pack Basket, Kathy Durocher; Jet Sled, Opal. Within a few hours, Opal sold the Jet Sled. She said, “It would just slow me down”. We plan to have another club raffle with similar items. I buy tickets and don’t care if I lose. The profit goes to maintaining our trail system, so everyone ends up winning. Almost all club officers are the same and were elected at the last meeting. The only exception is our new VP John Arcaro. John has probably held every official position in our club, more than once. He run’s great work
