CHEBEAGUE ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY JUNE 2022

ANNUAL MEETING JUNE 11, 7 PM AT THE ISLAND HALL

Please join us on Saturday, June 11th at 7 PM at the Hall for our Annual Meeting. All members and friends are welcome! Our agenda includes a review of the 2021 challenges and accomplishments, the 2021 financial report, and 2022 projects and activities. The Board of Trustees is recommending the following persons be elected to a three-year term on the Board—Mary Holt, David Hill, Jackie Trask, and Carol Sabasteanski. All nominees are current members of the Governing Board. Following the meeting, we will enjoy a presentation from Dr. Chuck Radis, author of two books about his practice as an island doctor (including Chebeague). We will have copies of his books at the meeting for purchase.

MUSEUM SHOP OPENING

Our volunteers have been hard at work this win ter ordering mer chandise and updating our displays. We have several new items this year. The Shop will be open for Memori al Day Week end.. Look for the “Open” flag

ELLSWORTH MILLER LECTURE SERIES Mr. Colin Woodard gave an excellent presentation in our May lecture. The author of The Lobster Coast: Rebels, Rusticators, and the Strug gle for a Forgotten Frontier, Mr. Woodard is a New York Times best selling author and a Pulitzer Prize finalist. Our June lecture will be following our Annual Meeting (see article above).

UPDATE ON 2022 EXHIBIT Our Exhibit Committee is hard at work on the display of hundreds of photos in our ‘Growing Up on Chebeague” exhibit. We will open the exhibit in late June and post the open date on Facebook.
