Sundays at 10 AM, We will be offering a mix of indoor and outdoor worship gatherings. For indoor services, we are asking everyone to wear masks, practice physical distancing, and sanitize hands upon entry. Special Music and Sunday School – Volunteer Opportunities! This summer, we’re looking for soloists, instrumentalists, or small ensembles to offer their gifts and talents during Sunday worship for special music. Contact Melissa at ml.yosuadavis@gmail.com for more information.
We’re also looking for a team to help relaunch our children’s programming in the fall. Curriculum is provided – we’d love folks companion our kids with crafts, mission projects, and stories. Talk to Melissa for more details. Summer Reading Group -- Attend any or all sessions! Sunday, August 15 th , 4 PM: Remake the World by Astra Taylor. Sessions will be over Zoom and also hosted at the Chebeague Island Library. Kindness BINGO! We all are recovering from the challenges of this past year, so let’s remember to be kind to ourselves and to others this summer. Pick up a BINGO card with activities for individuals and families to make this summer one of kindness and compassion. Pick one up at the Parish House during office hours or during worship – or at other locations throughout the island! Have a BINGO (or two or three?) Turn in your card at the church office to pick a prize.
Disaffiliation Update: Following the New England Annual Conference’s vote to ratify our disaffiliation agreement, and having successfully reached our goal for the “Keep the Buildings” campaign, our next steps are approving new church bylaws and winding up the Chebeague UMC. Food Pantry Notes Financial support in the form of Hannafords gift cards as well as access to local foods and other staples will continue to be available for those in need.
