Babysitting Course Children will learn about the responsibilities of becoming a babysitter. Topics include the business of babysitting, emergency procedures and basic first aid, child care, amusement of children and more. Upon completion of this course, participants will receive an American Red Cross Babysitting Certification. Full attendance is mandatory to obtain certificate. Participants should bring a bagged lunch. Date: Saturday, 6/1/19 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Ages: 11-14 Fee: $72.00 Location: Standish Municipal Center, Watchic Lake Room Instructor: Gail Platts (Certified Food Protection Manager, M.S. Adult & Higher Ed) Mad Science: Radical Robots Robotics has never been this exciting! Through the integration of modular robotics learning systems and various types of robots children will discover how robotic devices use sensors to learn about their environment and how people use robots to get work done. Your child will explore the mechanical aspects of robots, circuitry, and programming. They will discover circuits using squishy conductive dough and snap together circuit board modules to perform functions. They will have the opportunity to build their very own robots and navigate them through obstacle courses. Date: Wednesdays, 4/10/19 - 5/22/19 Time: 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm Grades: K-5 Fee: $88 Location: George E. Jack Elementary School, Art Room Nerf Night We’ll have a variety of individual and group challenges/obstacles to participate in. Participants will need to bring his/her own eye protection and Nerf toy. Please mark your child’s toy with his/her name. We supply the darts and ask that you do not bring darts from home. Date: Friday, 4/26/19 Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm Grades: 2-6 Fee: $15 per child Location: George E. Jack Elementary School
