Island commons also offers an adult day program where you can drop a loved one off at IC for the day, or respite care where your loved one can stay with us for a minimimun of two weeks.

Application time! All Chebeague Island nonprofits are invited to apply for 2026 grants from The Recompense Fund. Grant guide lines will be available at: https://www.recompensefund.com/ In 2025, Recompense distributed $89,580 to nine island nonprofits, and two $500 grants for teacher appreciation week and to the Whalers. The larger grants went to: The Chebeague Cumberland Land Trust ($7,911) to support restoration of Indian Point Chebeague Community Church ($7,776) for the music program Chebeague Island Historical Grant applications are in, and The Recompense Fund board members get to do the fun part of our mission, which is giving money to Chebeague Island nonprofits.
