Emergency Management

Harrison Residents, I’d like to take a moment and introduce myself; my name is Leo J. Saidnawey. My wife Christine and I retired and moved to Harrison in 2018. While my career was in Information Technology, my passion was Emergency Management, and I served as Director of Emergency Management in Belmont Massachusetts for 15+ years. After seeing Ray Laplante, Harrison’s EMA Director retire, I offered to help with Emergency Management in Harrison. I was appointed as the Emergency Management Director in September of 2025. I’d like to thank Mr. Laplante for all the work he and his team have done to date and wish him well in retirement. Our goal for 2026 is to continue regulatory work as instructed by the State and County EMA and continue the buildout of the towns Emergency Operation Center (EOC) which includes building a team of volunteers to help at time of need. Stay tuned to the weekly newsletter for information on our activities moving forward. As the Fire Department responds to calls, they are still finding many homes in town with no numerical reference posted on properties. A delay in response due to the difficulty in identifying a location can be avoided. Your help is needed.
