Border Riders Sportsman’s Club Honors Veterans with Special Luncheon

biling has long been a tradition that brings people together in Maine, and events like the Veterans Ride continue to highlight the strong sense of com munity found within the state’s snow mobile clubs and organizations.

The event served as a reminder that beyond maintaining trails and pro moting the sport, snowmobile clubs and organizations across Maine often play an important role in support ing their communities and honoring those who have given so much. The Border Riders Sportsman’s Club expressed its gratitude to the veterans who attended, as well as to the volunteers and supporters who helped make the luncheon possible. Appreciation was also extended to the Backwoods Veteran’s Foundation for organizing the ride and continuing its efforts to support and honor vet erans through outdoor recreation and community events. For everyone involved, the Veterans Ride was more than just a day of rid ing—it was an opportunity to pause, reflect, and salute the service and sac rifice of the nation’s veterans while enjoying the outdoors and the sport that brings so many people together each winter.

O n March 4, 2026, veterans, snow mobilers, and volunteers gath ered for a special day of apprecia tion, camaraderie, and Maine’s winter trails during the annual Veterans Ride. The ride was organized by the Backwoods Veteran’s Foundation as a way to recognize and thank the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Following time spent on the trails, veterans and participants gathered for a luncheon organized and hosted by the Border Riders Sportsman’s Club. Club volunteers prepared and served lunch for the veterans as a small token of appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice. The meal also provided an opportunity for everyone to sit down together, share stories, and enjoy the fellowship that is so often found within the snowmo biling community. Throughout the day, organizers and club members took time to person ally thank the veterans in attendance and recognize the sacrifices they have made in service to the country.
