A project that we have had on our list to complete for a very long time was done in early fall. Aceto Earthworks installed 480 feet of twelve-inch water main on Highland Avenue. The going was a bit tougher than expected with many big boulders being taken out of the ground. They were still able to get the 12-inch main installed in less than a week. Once the bacteria and pressure tests passed, we teamed up with the public works and got the house services installed. The entire project, besides waiting on paving, took less than two weeks to accomplish. Flow testing showed that some hydrants improved by as much as 1000 gallons per minute on Park and Lewiston streets. Other projects for 2025 included our annual gate checks and maintenance, hydrant painting, and the continuation of the lead service line inventory. We went through the process of a rate increase for the first time in 11 years. While we know that increases can put strains on people, it is necessary as prices increase to maintain revenues to operate the system. Customers will see an increase of 11.5% or what would have been just over 1% per year over the last 11 years. As always, thank you to the public works department, sewer department and all those who have helped us through the year. Thank you to the rate payers and council for your continued support as well. Sincerely, Jake Verrill
