groomed all winter. Great job Guys!! Once again, we co-hosted with Dysart’s, the Pine Tree Camp Celebrity Egg Ride on January 31st. The weekend was a huge, suc cessful fundraiser for The Pine Tree Camp and all the events over the weekend were a lot of fun. Our club donated $1,000.00 to the camp for camper scholarships. Hope you were able to attend or donate by purchasing a paper egg to hang in the window of local stores for this great cause. We held a free Community Turkey Dinner on January 24th serving over 70 meals. What a great turnout on a very cold day! It is always nice to see people enjoying each other’s com pany and relaxing. We hosted our 1st Annual Classed Radar Run produced by Brian Monahan and CBR Powersports on a cold and windy February 21st. There were 16 classes with 64 regis trations and a 70/30 payout. An estimated 200 passes ran the track with the fastest sled clocked at 102 mph driven by Nick Mills on his modified Yamaha SRX 4 Stroke Turbo. The kitchen was open all day serving Break fast Sandwiches, Turkey Pie, Chili w/Corn bread, Burgers, Dogs, Fries and Desserts. We would like to thank Valley Home Ser vices for your continued support. You make so much of what we do possible. The clubhouse facility is available for your event of 40-50 guests. We have plenty of park ing, and two restrooms. For information call Chuck at 207-478-8280. For up-to-date information follow our Sled Hermon Facebook page or call Andy, our club president at 207-852-8214. GRAND LAKE sc Grand Lake Stream, ME It’s the weekend and I had a camp repair job to do, so I fired up the Arctic Cat and off I went. The weather was nice, just below freez ing and no wind. I was hoping it would be a busy snowmobile day at the Pine Tree Store. I knew I would run into traffic on the trail. With our fourth, six-inch snowfall the other day, the dirt road trail now is too deep for trucks, and is now basically just a snowmobile trail, for the first time in years. It hasn’t been groomed, because it’s a dirt road, not a snowmobile trail, but riders have been dragging toboggans, thus making it somewhat flat. It’s two snowmo biles wide, and the middle is the flattest. When I can I ride on my side, and try to flatten that side of the trail better. I had to adjust my face mask and collar, so I pulled over with just half the snowmobile off the trail, in a spot where I could be seen from a distance. Sure enough, four riders came by from what seemed like out of nowhere. They did slow down when pass ing by me. Just remember if you’re in a party of more than one sled and you have to safely pull over, pick your spot and park snowmo biles end to end. If you park side by side, guar anteed a fast sled is going to come upon you. My repair job went fine and so did the return trip. I bumped into 15 sleds today. My guess is all were coming from, or going to the store. I told my two itinerary watchers that I was home safe. I then sat down and ate the BLT wrap that Jaz, the sparkly breakfast cook made for me. Also, never go in the woods without food and drink If you guy’s call ahead of time, the store can have hot food waiting for you. Grab a tea or coffee and it will take only five minutes of your time. The club’s new trail snow packer is working well. Trail Master Les set up the packer real nice. Jake Richard then took over and fine tuned it, while packing many miles of club trails. Good job you guys. There was talk about the Hayes Brook Trail having a problem with too much brush. Les has a lot to do and sure could us help with a problem such as this. You could call him at the store and he could update you and also make plans. Local riders, and visitors can take on a job that Les offered and include it in your fam ily trail riding outing. There was rough planning for the yearly raf fle. It was decided to have it in the summer, because we will make more money when the vacationers are here. What we will raffle, has not been decided. If you have an idea, talk to Les. We are due two snow storms this week. One supposed to be a Nor’easter. In my opinion a Nor’easter years ago was one heck of a snow

storm. These days it’s just a scientific word. To cover themselves, the weatherman said snow depths will be 1 to 15 inches. Regard less, winter will be over soon. Get out there and safely enjoy the trail system that each of our MSA clubs offer. Les had to replace a track wheel on our groomer, the Snow Rabbit. Due to tariff’s, it was costly. It was felt that we should order a spare wheel, and Les will take care of it. We have a good size group of coyote hunt ers here in GLS. We had several 6-inch snow storms, and the hunters can no longer get bait out to there hunting spot. Naturally, someone came up with the idea to give the club a dona tion, if Les drags a cow bait out into the woods with the Snow Rabbit. It worked. We got the snow, groomed trails, gas, and hot food. What we don’t have is you. Please visit. Trail 507 will not be groomed this winter season. Another club is not grooming to the dam, so it is felt, what sense would it make for GLSC too. This could change, but just in case, be ready to travel on an ungroomed trail. NEXT MEETING: The second Wednesday of every month, 6 pm, at the GLS Fire Station. SIGNAGE: This is a big topic with Maine Dept of Agriculture/Snowmobile Division. Correct signage is major and should give you all kinds of information related to direction, restaurants, lodging, safety, bridge crossing, and more. So, gather some friends. Plan a lunch. Let Les know days ahead of time, that your group will be available. TREE WORK: Les needs help with brushing on the Hayes Trail. Give him a call. GROOMER TESTING: Les didn’t touch on the subject of members taken the Maine Trail Groomer Test. I’m sure he is planning this. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read about our snowmobile club and our special little town. Please ride our trails and make our town your town, and stop by on your snowmobile adventure. I guarantee you will be back. mikeremillard42@gmail.com Please cut out the below lines of informa tion and pack it away with your registration and insurance info. You never know. KENDUSKEAG STREAM RIDERS sc Kenduskeag, ME Usually, at this point of each month, I am sitting at the kitchen table to put together a few thoughts, ideas, newsworthy tidbits, and maybe a few pictures of snow related items that are taking place in our small neck of the woods. But not today. Yes, I am sitting at a kitchen table, and yes it is in Penobscot County, just Northern Penobscot County - specifically Vacation Land Estates in Island Falls. Gail and I have had the opportunity to stay here and ride this trail system for a few days, due the generosity of our Eastern Region Vice President Eileen LaFland. Thank You very much. We really appreciated it. That pretty much leaves the work load of updating some signs, grooming the trails, and keeping the grooming fleet of sleds and the 2 Blazers, right smack dab in the laps of Dave P., Hunter P. Dale C. and the rest of the KSRSC Trail Crew. Great job by ALL of you. I have been following the messages back and forth (pictures to follow). Seems like you guys

had a stretch of issues almost daily, but over came them, and got right back out on the trails in very quick fashion, THANK-YOU. Just recently, Dave and Hunter P. got the whole trail system GPS’ and added to the TRAILS APP system, so that sledders can download that APP and see the trails right on their phones (should be information in this paper to get the “FREE” version with the ITS SYSTEM and the “PRO VERSION” $4.99 with ALL of the trails that have been submit ted so far This is a GREAT way to go from trail system to trail system at the glance of your phone (please pull over to the right side of the trail, and stop , as you navigate this maneuver-SAFETY FIRST). As we wind down the season of 2025/2026, don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead 1 hr on March 8th (lose 1hour of sleep), I will wrap this up for now. P.S -Again special thanks to Dale and JoAnn for opening their house for the club meetings. We may have to make other arras they have purchased a motor home and plan to travel (JoAnn says that Dale is steadily counting the days until retirement) -well deserved and best of luck to both of you. Respectfully submitted,

Greetings Fellow Snowmobilers, It seems like just yesterday that we were awaiting the first snowfall of the season, and now we are quickly looking down the barrel of another end to winter with SPRING ready to take control. Get those last few late season rides in now, before the white snow turns to brown “snert “ and mud season takes over. The GLRSC crew has been busy working on clubhouse projects, as we touched on last month. Eddie P., Bradley A. and other mem bers have been remodeling the kitchen, paint ing cabinets, installing new flooring, painting the walls, making over the restrooms, install ing a oversized garage door, adding insulation, and the list goes on and on. THANK-YOU to ALL. Marion P. has taken on the chore of washing the curtains (they look brand new -THANK YOU.) Tyler S. has kept the door yard plowed out - plenty of room for members and the PARK N ‘RIDE sledders. Gene B. and Tommy G. have been out numerous times to check signage, trail work, as well as grooming the trails, THANK-YOU. Welcome new members Scott and Shannon S. We are glad to have you aboard and looking forward to your to seeing you out and about. Not a whole more to add for this time, except that it was rumored that Marion P. actually logged in a few s-mile-s on her grand son’s sled (YES , she was actually driving the sled, in a VERY BIG open field) -way to go Marion. Hopefully some of you had a chance to make the deadline to nominate some deserv ing snowmobilers, groomers, businesses, landowners, and volunteers for the 2025/2026 season. Those awards will be presented at the MSA Annual Banquet in April, see you ALL there. Looks like that’s all for this time... RIDE SAFE TODAY and RIDE AGAIN TOMOR ROW ... Respectfully submitted, Hi to All, Quadcounty SC has been trying to keep the trails in shape with marginal snow, all Winter. The cold temperatures have kept the snow totals down and the powdery snow doesn’t solidify into a firm base and compacts to almost nothing. We are grooming when there is snow and no groomer breakdowns. Our Hot Dog Roast, this Saturday, is getting a new item on the menu, Haddock Chowder. It will be held at one of our Business members, The Depot Lodge. It’s about 300 feet off ITS105 south, on Depot Rd. You can sled or drive and it’s by donation. Time is 11-2, hope to see you there. Our last Breakfast, we served 95 people, that’s almost summer numbers! January, we served Lobster Stew to 103 people and in February, we served Pot Roast to 87 people. Thanks to all who came for great meals and support the club. Besides our breakfasts, we will be serving a Turkey Pot Pie in March, and the Supper crew Barry E.
