Community Spirit Bridges the Gap: Chapman Ridge Runners and Mapleton ATV Clubs Collaborate on Trail Improvements

W hen it comes to maintain ing vital recreational trails, two local clubs are proving that collaboration is the key to suc cess. The Chapman Ridge Run ners Snowmobile Club and the Mapleton ATV Club have teamed up this summer for a series of significant bridge replacement projects, ensuring the longevity and safety of shared trails for

enthusiasts of all seasons. Their efforts kicked off with the ambitious replacement of “Buster’s Bridge” on Trail #74, famously known as the “Scopan Trail.” This historic path, originally blazed by “Buster” McPherson decades ago to reach Scopan Lake from his Castle Hill home, has long been a cherished part of the local trail system. Buster

and his family dedicated years to maintaining and grooming the trail before it was officially incor porated into the Chapman Club’s network. The two clubs worked tirelessly, transporting materials and equipment a considerable distance into the remote trail location, demonstrating remark able dedication to preserving this piece of local history.
