W elcome, fellow snowmobilers, to the vibrant and accessible Coastal Region of Maine, the quintes sential starting point for your winter adventures! While the name might evoke images of sandy beaches, come winter, this area transforms into a pristine, snow-cov ered playground, thanks to the tireless dedication of our local snowmobile clubs. This region boasts the auspicious beginning of ITS 89 in Lebanon, marking the most southern start of Maine’s extensive Interconnected Trail System. It's a unique gateway, offering riders from southern New England and beyond immediate access to hundreds of miles of meticulously groomed trails. From the moment you hit the snow in Lebanon, you’ll appreciate the diligent efforts of multiple local clubs working year-round to maintain and groom this crucial artery, alongside nu merous exciting club trails branching off into the sur rounding countryside. As you head north, ITS 89 smoothly guides you into Sanford. This bustling community offers a convenient first pit stop where you can easily find gas and food to refuel both your sled and your belly. Continuing your journey, the trail flows through the charming towns of Alfred and Waterboro, each offering glimpses of south ern Maine's serene winter landscape. A true highlight and a vital hub in Waterboro is the Ossipee Mountaineers Snowmobile Club. This excep tional club stands as a beacon for riders, with their in viting clubhouse located right on ITS 89. Here, you’ll find ample parking, a warm welcome, and all the ame nities you need, including more gas and food options. The Ossipee Mountaineers are renowned for their hos pitality and their fantastic trail network. Don’t miss the chance to take the scenic trail up to Ossipee Mountain, where you’ll be rewarded with truly fantastic views of Little Ossipee Lake shimmering under a blanket of snow – a perfect photo opportunity! From Waterboro, the trail invites you to head north west, guiding you through the picturesque towns of Shapleigh, Limerick, and Limington. This stretch offers its own brand of scenic beauty, including the opportu nity to take in beautiful views from Hosach Mountain. As you pass through Limerick, give a nod to the ded icated members of the RT 11 Streakers club who con tribute so much to this superb trail system. Your jour ney then leads you into Cornish, another welcoming town where you’ll find additional food & gas to keep your adventure going. While in the Limington area, we highly recommend exploring the local trails that lead

up to Sawyer Mountain – an exhilarating ride that is a local favorite and offers its own unique rewards. Should you wish to remain on the main highway of ad venture, ITS 89 continues its journey seamlessly from the Shapleigh/Limerick area. It will lead you into Hol lis, gracefully hooking into the expansive Lyman trails loop, offering even more diverse riding opportunities. From there, the trail weaves through Buxton, Gorham, and Standish, bringing you to the stunning shores of Sebago Lake. This section of ITS 89 offers picturesque lake views and provides access to a network of trails leading to Westbrook, Windham, and the dedicated trails maintained by the Sebago Branch Duckers, all still an integral part of Maine’s incredible ITS system. The Coastal Region truly offers an unparalleled start to your Maine snowmobiling experience. With diverse terrain, well-maintained trails, welcoming communi ties, and the tireless efforts of our snowmobile clubs, every ride here is an adventure waiting to happen.
