years of service dedication to this town and working so closely with us here at the water department. He will be missed, that is for sure. Going into fall and the last quarter of the year we had our sanitary survey done by the state. This happens every three years, they come in to inspect our operations at the pumping station and reservoirs and ask many questions about how we operate. This went very well, and we did not receive any violations. We had several service leaks over a very short period, while none of them were on our side we still do not mind giving a hand and advice when this happens. We replaced the last Ludlow hydrant in the system. These hydrants only have two outlets and were made in the 1880’s into the early 1900’s. We have started the process for a rate case study working with Tom’s Water Solutions. Our last rate increase took effect in 2015 while this is the last thing we want to do; prices and the cost of operations have increased significantly in the last ten years. We have also started the process of changing the company we have doing our GIS, we believe we can save a few thousand dollars a year by switching and have the same or better level of service. We have also started the process of changing out our water meters. We will be starting the actual change outs in early 2025 and continue for several years. These meters will be radio read (we drive by, and the reading is collected) and have the ability to detect leaks on both the customer's side and our side of the system. As always, we want to thank the customers and council for their continued support. A thank you also goes out to the public works and sanitary departments for their willingness to work side by side with us throughout the year.
