Although The SPONSOR A MILE season was challenged, I would like to remind many of our sponsors that your signs were up this season, so watch for your invoice. I plan on getting a jump on next year’s season so I can have the trails well-advertised. Please contact me, Carilynn Hanson - 2036876403 - to spon sor a mile for your business. If your sign was out there, watch for an invoice coming from me. You may not think this advertisement ben efits your income, but the number of sledders looking for a great place to eat or rest is right on the trail. Finally, I would like to say thank you to all the great writers for the clubs. It’s been an honor to write with each of you and read what your clubs are up to. It’s the club reporters who keep the readers ahead of what is hap pening next. Well that is about it for now - Happy Trails Everyone Carilynn Hanson MOLUNKUS VALLEY SNO-DRIFTERS Sherman, ME Greetings from MVSD! Here we are in March and our Snow is gone. My last ride was March 11 and it was beautiful! The trails were perfect, the temperature was not too warm and the trails were not crowded. We had a great lunch in St. Agatha and returned home after a beautiful, sunny ride. The grooming crews from all clubs have done an excellent job this winter and they should be commended. These winters with less snow do not make the season easier. But last month I mentioned that I intended to make it to Escourt Station. It’s been on my bucket list for a few years. “Ka-Ching.” Our group included 6 riders and we rode to our camp first, at St. Froid Lake, got up the next morning and left for Escourt Station. St. Froid is about 28 miles north of Portage Lake. Add another 84 miles to Escourt. The trails were very well maintained and signage was good too. We did see a sign in St. Francis that noted that the border crossing is not open on the weekend. We did not know this. That means that you may not cross the border to get gas for the return trip. Riders may sled into the town of Escourt, but there is no gas available there. We got to the crossing, took photos and headed south. We made it to St. Francis on the way back and went into Chamberlains Store and got gas, but the largest sled in our group came in on fumes! Had we known this we would have detoured into St. Francis and topped off before resuming our trip up to Escourt. We returned back to camp, played “Chicken Foot” and left the next morning No one had to be rocked to sleep! So, from Portage the mileage would be about 112 miles each way. (I should note that there is gas available (2 stations) in Eagle Lake also.) We will do it again. We did not go into the village of Escourt, that’s for

next time. Due to the short season and lack of snow, I only got about 650 miles this season. There’s always next year! I hope everyone has a won derful summer and that next winter finds us all healthy and hearty to explore more destinations! Sue Maynard, Secretary BENEDICTA SNOWGANG sc Benedicta, ME Hi Gang, Well, the 2024/25 season is “in the books” as they say. In looking back on the season as a whole, it was short again this year, but a whole lot better than last year, for sure. Thanks again to each and every Snowgang club member for once again helping our club to succeed!! With that being said, our election of officers was held at our April club meeting, and here they are: President ~~~ Randy Bates Vice President ~~~ Kim Joyce Sec,/Treasurer ~~~ Joyce Remeschatis The major project for the summer will be building our new groomer barn, should be fun. If you are interested in volunteering on this project, please call Randy Bates @ 532-8036. Remember, the trail work never stops either, there is always something to do. Well, I guess that gets us caught up, got to go ~~~ the Red Sox are on!! Jim Splan, Reporter @ Large P.S ~~ Way to go Bryce!! P.SS ~~ Celtics Rule!! P.SSS ~~ Ray & Linda, you never wave!! P.SSSS~~ Thank you MSA ~~ as always!! CENTRAL REGION www.cobbosseeconteesnowmobileclub.com What a challenging season this has been. Despite no snow until February, our dedicated trail crews continued to meet every weekend from September til now, clearing the trails in hopes that snow would make it to West Gardiner. In February we were blessed with SNOW, never seen so many happy people and all the hard work paid off as the locals were able to travel the trails. Club’s annual trip to North Branch in Eustis was a great time. Trails were great, as were the accommodations and food. Stories/adventures shared always with a laugh or two. This year we were fortunate to have been able to help a fellow snowmobiler. His machine had bro ken down and he had gotten separated from his fellow snowmobilers, who unfortunately did not come back to rescue him or his sled. He had been out all day, waiting for them. Our gang had come across him, he was sure his group would come back, in meantime, sand wich/food/drink were taken to him as he con tinued to count on his friends to rescue him and his sled. As darkness fell, one last check and he was close to hypothermia, was brought back to our group for night. He will be for ever thankful for kindness we did, but we are thankful we were there to help. Short of story: he finally reconnected with his group, sled dragged out and they all went home safely to Pennsylvania. In March, seven club members went to Shin Pond for three days. All had a great time, weather was good, just enough snow, only one minor breakdown, trip to ghost trains, trip to Lakeview on Long Lake in St. Agathe, 250 mile ride. Helped two other riders who had misfortunes, get back on the trail. Consensus was another trip to Shin Pond next year. As the season ends, special thanks to our amazing trail crew who spent hours and hours getting the trails perfect, dealing with landowners when issues arose, dealing with them timely. Also amazing is our breakfast crew who once a month, arrived early to fix a hearty breakfast for the crew before trail work – Thank you! CONCHNEWAGAN TRAILBLAZERS Monmouth, ME Well, we are headed into our last week of COBBOSSEECONTEE sc West Gardiner, ME

March and yesterday we received our first significant snowstorm for the month. It would have been a great addition if we had any snow left on the trails. Most likely this snow won’t last long either. Even though the riding sea son may be over, as an atv/snowmobile club we never go dormant. In April we have our adopt a highway commitment. June, July and August meetings are preceded by a potluck supper or ice cream social and hosted by a member. The second weekend in August is our annual camping trip to Peaks Kenny State Park. We also have three overnight atv trips planned in July, August and September, as well as day trips that will be planned as well, Watch your email and facebook for more information. As I mentioned last month, we had a rescue boggan training session. We were fortunate to have an evening with nice weather to stage this training. We had three children of a couple of our members that volunteered to be the patients in need of rescue. From the time the call went out for help to the time the third patient was transported to a trailhead was approximately 90 minutes. We felt the train ing went very well with a few minor issues that were reviewed to hopefully avoid if we are called upon in the future. Thank you to the Monmouth Fire Department and all the club volunteers that either helped in the planning stages or participated in the training. Let’s hope we won’t need to use this resource, but feel good knowing that we are prepared if we are needed. I also want to thank all of you that went out and did trail work and groom ing. Every minute spent on maintaining trails and equipment is important and appreciated. I hope those that aren’t members appreciate all that we do, At this point, I would like to wish everyone a fun and safe summer. Roberta Kemp President ABNAKI SNO RIDERS Madison, ME Fall started with trail clean up and groomer maintenance. We had a public spaghetti sup per with our landowners as our guests. As we maintained the groomers, many major repairs had to be made but with help from our trail master, Matt, and several mem bers, all equipment was soon up and running. After making repairs, it has been voted to look into upgrading to a newer groomer. Fund rais ing has begun. Once the snow arrived, we opened the club house for lunch and a place to warm up. We were open two weekends in February. We also offer a park and ride at our clubhouse. We want to thank all our landowners for allowing us to make trails for all to enjoy. Club Reporter. Linda WESTERN REGION Hello everyone, We had a short but great season. The snow finally came all at once and we made the best of what we had while we had it. Thank you to our generous landowners for sharing their property with all of us. You are the backbone that keeps thing going with our trail system and you are greatly appreciated. Thank you to all our supporters from the memberships, donations and volunteers. Our small group of guys that get out there and keep the trails in check all through the year are amazing. Well, that was a short snowmobile sea son, but we tried to make the best of it with what Mother Nature gave us. The trails were groomed to the best of our ability. The break fasts have been going well. By the time you read this we will be done serving them for the season. Elections have been held, and our Land owners Appreciation supper was on May 3 rd . he clubhouse is open for rentals, Please call 207-538-8048 to inquire. Farewell to you, winter of white It seems like you just came to visit Such a short time, doesn’t seem right. What a whirlwind this winter has been. We started off January with almost no snow. Opened our lodge the second week of Janu ary. After five months of destruction and con struction. We began our hot meal Saturdays shortly after the first Snowstorm in January and served our last meal this last Saturday. During this time, we got to renew friend ships and make some wonderful new ones. We Thank each and everyone of you who took the time to stop in and see our new look and enjoy a meal with us! So many stories to tell and experiences to share. I want to Thank Vic and Craig and some times Jeff for your hours in the seat laying down the white carpet. You are amazing! Thank you, Erwin for being the smiling face at the lodge. If we paid you for each hour you are there, you could certainly, retire to a warm climate, but we would so miss you. So, I think we’ll say a Big Thank You and hope you never leave. Thanks to the crew that help out in the kitchen. Every Saturday, we had willing, smil ing people giving of their valuable time to make our club a place to remember. Remember us this summer! I’ve always wondered what die hard snow mobilers do in the summer? Do they sit in the garage and rev their snowmobiles? Do they wear their snowmobile suits and helmets when no one is looking? Whatever it is you do, it’s OK with us and we understand. Before long we’ll be together again. Start planning next winter’s fun this summer. A La Prochaine! Well, There… The season has once again come and gone. The robins are dancing around the yard find ing worms, a true sign that Spring is here. With temperatures climbing higher, the trails are growing softer and the beautiful white trails are now brown and muddy in many areas. Sigh… I am hoping that all sledders had a great ride this year and I look forward to your visit again next year. I would like to say a big “thank you!” to all the groomers who worked diligently to keep our trails safe and groomed for riding. Without our groomers, there wouldn’t be a great ride. If you are in areas where there is still snow on the ground - watch for the Spring animals you might find along the way. Club news for March - There were some great dishes presented on the monthly potluck menu. One in particular was very delicious and came with a hot twist. It was fantastic! The MSA ride was cancelled due to the lack of snow. Hopefully next year that snow will last a little longer. I would like to remind everyone that the Rockabema Snow Rangers Raffle has begun. The prizes are: first draw $3,000.00, second draw is $1500.00, and final draw will be $500.00. Greetings all, As I sit here in late March, the lawns and fields are mostly bare of any snow. I think snowmobiling may be over for this season, although snow is in the forecast in a couple of days. The two club snowmobiles were
