Climate Action Ellie Hughes recently joined the Town of Chebeague Island for its second year of participation in a Greater Portland Council of Governments fellowship program centered around sustainability. As a climate action fellow, she works with the Town and its Climate Action Team to advance coastal resilience work and energy transition initiatives aiming to make island life more sustainable, accessible, and safe. She is a Kansas City native and a recent graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where she received a bachelor’s degree in environmental policy and Spanish.
