there and bask in the magical winter wonder land that the landowners graciously allow us to maintain for all to enjoy.
(Continued from Page 11) This year we added our trail system to Polaris Ride Command, a free gps app. Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month from October to April, starting with a potluck dinner at 6:00 PM, followed by the meeting at 6:30 PM held at 8 Bald Mountain Road, Dedham. Membership forms can be found on our web site at https://baldmountainsnowriders.word press.com/join-our-club/. Becoming a member is one of the easiest ways to support our efforts. Happy New Year, let’s make it a snowy one. Amber Kirby BMSR Secretary MOOSEHEAD RIDERS sc Greenville, ME Find us on Facebook

The club members continue to keep the trails open and passable, which in some cases requires maintenance every week as each windstorm we get, tends to knock down trees, and there seems to be a lot of windstorms lately. The A team did countless bridge repairs and there may still be a few smaller ones left to do. Most of the trails are signed and marked and ready to go, we just need Mother Nature to bless us with a good freeze, and snow base. I feel like we may get there this year. The Trail Safety Officer has been out on the trails mark ing GPS waypoints, so that our trail system is mapped for emergency services and for vari ous electronic mapping apps, and for anyone using the trail system. You will come across a GPS coordinate marker in quarter mile inter vals give or take. As always please consider joining the club as it supports many community endeavors and be sure to look at our Facebook page for events, club meetings, and work parties. Respectfully, Stephanie Bravoco Club Reporter We had a wonderful turnout for our Annual Christmas Party Meeting on December 5th, smiling faces, yummy food, eggnog, high energy games, music and prizes made for a fun and festive Thursday night. The club float entered both the Damariscotta and Wiscas set Parade of lights this month. Thank you to Chad Cowan for the use of your trailer for these events. Between the set up and tear down of the float as well as the actual parades, we had several get-togethers and saw many club members participating, which is tremen dous. Even if we can’t snowmobile just yet, we find other ways to come together and enjoy the winter months. The trail crew rescued a bridge that had washed into a bog area. The bridge was recently built, and still in good shape, so this was a good mission to accomplish before the ice moves in. Another crew also went out and cleared downed trees and limbs all the way around the Hassan Ave Trail. Trail work continues every Sunday at 9am, meeting and leaving from John Shorey’s house. The next meeting is scheduled for January 9th @ 6:30 pm. Club members voted and elected to move the meeting one week later than normal, due to the New Years Eve holiday. We hope to see you there! Follow us on Facebook for up-to-date infor mation and fun pictures of our happenings. Club reporters, Tabatha Sawyer and Kris tina Verney ALNA sc Alna, ME Hello fellow readers and Riders,
We were lucky to have several small storms in December creating a base of snow to work with. We had just enough snow to fire up the equipment and take them out for test rides. Unfortunately, warm weather and rain came in and washed the base we did have away. Our equipment is ready for the trails when the snow decides to fall! It’s a good time to hit the frozen ponds for some fishing while we wait for the snow to cover the trails. Club meetings are held the 1st Wednesday each month at the old town hall in Sebago. Hope to see you there! Happy New Year! Jim LaPointe
Hi Folks, Hello from sunny Saco Maine. We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. Trail work has wrapped up for the season and as I write this, we are just waiting for snow. That seems to be the theme for the past few years. The entire state is wait ing for rideable snow in to January. Hoping the white stuff gets here soon. Congratulations to all the MSA raffle win ners out there. Our Chaiman of the Board, Jim Stubinski, sold two winning tickets this year. One was for the 12’ hybrid trailer and the other was for a $100 gift certificate. Last year, Jim sold a winning ticket for one of the sleds. So, in the future, if you want to up your odds of winning something in the MSA raffle, I sug gest you by your tickets from Jim. As most of you know, southern Maine isn’t a destination for snowmobiling, mean ing people from out of state don’t generally come here to ride. It’s really designed for the locals to get out and put on some miles close to home. When we have rideable snow, one of our favorite activities is to open our kitchen at the club on weekends. It’s a great way to meet and greet local riders and to have a nice warm meal. Our kitchen is open from 11:00am to around 3:00pm and serves up hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, onion rings, chicken nuggets, clam cakes, and drinks. If you get the chance to ride locally, stop in and grab a bite. The Pathfinders held their annual Christmas Party on Saturday, December 14 th . This year’s party was another huge success. There was a happy hour, amazing pot luck dinner, then the kids opened gifts and the adults held a Yankee Swap. Later in the evening, we had an epic game of left-right-center. Once again, the Pathfinders will be head ing north for five days of riding in the county. We’ll be staying and riding out of Katahdin Lodge in Moro Plantation. This is our favorite place to stay. Chuck and his team at Katahdin Lodge do a great job of stuffing us at breakfast just before we head out riding. Then, in the evening, they put out a huge dinner which is different every night. And on one of the final nights of the trip, Chuck will get behind the piano and put on a private concert for us. If you want a wonderful place to stay, with super clean rooms, incredible meals, and some of the best riding in the state right from the parking lot, we highly recommend Katahdin Lodge. That’s about it for now. Once we get snow, please ride right and ride safe! Cheers Doug Doherty, President Trail Master, Pete Fournier, doing what he’s been doing since September....getting some exercise by clearing trails. Open Mic Night
The Moose Brook bridge replacement is completed and is a vast improvement over the old 34-year-old structure. This means that the Moose Mountain Club Trail between Green ville Junction and the North Rd. will be open for sleds now and ATV’s next summer. Remember that the airport property has a re-route along the tree line in the vicinity of East Road. It is well marked and eliminates a sharp turn and decline. Please, no short-cuts at this active airport and stay on the marked trail. Trail marking stakes on Moosehead Lake are in place when ice thickness tests indicate safe travels. Sled parking is available on the ice and in the immediate vicinity of East Cove as in the past. A word of caution, bubblers are working around the cruise ship “Katahdin” making the surrounding ice very thin even if snow covered. On behalf of all of us at the Pine Tree Snow mobile Club, I want to extend our sincere con dolences to Eileen and family on the loss of Larry Lafland. He will be missed. As I am writing this, it is pouring down rain and the temperature is headed into the 50’s. Not a good way to get snow on the ground. We will keep our fingers crossed for snow. We held our Christmas Party at the club house on December 4 th , following our regular monthly meeting. As always, the food was delicious, and a good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who participated. The $314.10 Pot of Gold was won by Janet and Paul Murphy. They generously donated the entire amount back to the Club. Thank you, Janet and Paul! That means we start all over. The balance for our January meeting will be $10.75. You must be present to win! A reminder that beginning January 5, 2025, there will be a public breakfast at the club house each Sunday through March 9th. Break fast includes eggs, bacon, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee, tea, and cocoa. Our On January 26 th , February 23rd and March 9th, the breakfast will be Pancakes or French toast with bacon, home fries, orange juice, coffee, and cocoa. The cost for all breakfasts will be $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Everyone is welcome. On January 18 th we will have a Public Spa ghetti Supper at the Clubhouse. We will be serving supper from 4:30 until 6:30. The Annual Chili, Chowder and Auction on February 15 th at the Milford Town Hall. Sup per will be at 5:00 with the Auction starting at 6:00. We look forward to seeing you at the Club house and on the trails. Happy New Year! Think Snow!!! Ride with safety in mind. SACOPEE VALLEY SNOW DRIFTERS Porter, ME
Sacopee Valley Snow Drifters (SVSD) meeting was well attended by this dozen (12) of dedicated volunteers, missing is Edward LeBorgne, otherwise we are the Bak ers-Dozen. From the empty chair going clock wise we have Jack Wadsworth, Josh Mudgett, Mike Smith, Phil Collins, Alan Simpson, George Nadolnyg, Richard Brunault, Steve Barton, Scott Day, Jenilee Barsanti, Philip Barsanti and John Lambert’s empty chair. Jenilee’s business minutes and treasurer reports were reviewed and the vote was unanimous to accept. Discussions are always ongoing about trail maintenance and repairs. November is always a busy and expensive month for trailwork, the use of heavy equip ment for excavation, bridges and this year the removal of downed storm damaged trees has really been costly. Most of the SVSD trails are ready, we still have pockets of trails that still need to be tended to. Philip Barsanti has been busy building and upgrading SVSD snow drags. SVSD membership has not changed in the past month, only 12 single/family and 10 business memberships for a grand total of 22. SVSD membership could make a great stock ing-stuffer for someone special in your life... Join us and support your local SVSD trails. Thank you. Like “Sacopee Valley Snow Drift ers” on Facebook. Hello Everyone, We welcome in the new 2025 year, and we hope that everyone had an enjoyable, restful, and magical Holiday season. The Waldoboro Sno-Crawlers participated in the Waldoboro Toys for Tots and older kids’ program and were able to donate many toys and gifts for children of all ages. It was refreshing to have a few small snow events, not enough to sled but enough to at least view some beautiful snow-covered trails. The sheer beauty these snow-covered trails provide is un-measurable and a mighty sight to see. We are very hopeful for a snowy season where we can all get out WALDOBORO SNO-CRAWLERS Waldoboro, ME
