S nowmobiling in Jackman, Maine, is a popu lar and exhilarating winter activity, attracting enthusiasts from all over the region. Located in the western part of the state near the Canada–U.S. bor der, Jackman is renowned for its stunning snowy landscapes and extensive trail systems that cater to both novice and experienced riders. Jackman is part of a vast network of snowmobile trails, including more than 200 miles of groomed paths that connect to other regions in Maine and even into Canada.The trails are well-maintained by local clubs, offering a smooth and safe riding expe rience. These trails wind through beautiful forests, across mountains, and alongside frozen lakes, pro viding breathtaking scenery. The area is known for its picturesque winter land scapes, with glistening snow-covered trees and expansive views of the surrounding mountains. Riding through this pristine environment allows snowmobilers to immerse themselves in nature, making every ride an adventure.
Suggested Ride 1. Starting Point: JackmanTown Center - Begin your journey in the heart of Jackman. Make sure to check local snow conditions and trail maps. 2. ITS 89 South: - Head South on ITS 89 to Coburn Mountain the summit trail will be on your right. This trail offers the most mag nificent scenery on a clear day. Coburn Mountain is a must see however the trail up to the summit can be a bit technical and best for experienced riders. . 3. ITS 89 South to ITS 86: - Continue South on ITS 89 to the intersection of ITS 86 East for a short distance to where you will take ITS 87 North toward Brassua Lake. 4. ITS 87 to ITS 88 West: - will bring you alongside of Long Pond and thru a sce nic ride back to Jackman if time allows take ITS 89 to the Canadian Border. Consider crossing in to Quebec if you have the appropriate documentation and trail pass. 5. Loop Back to Jackman: - After exploring the trails near the border, you can loop back to Jackman via ITS 89 head back into town..
