Big Woods Grass Drags Delivered with an Epic Weekend T he people were great, the weather was awesome, and the racing was crazy! Ash land and Portage Snowmobile Clubs collabo rated for their sixth year of Big Woods Grass Drags and delivered another epic weekend of BRAAPP’n in the grass.

to date at 116.58 MPH, crowning him King of Speed for 2024! Our local racing legends out of Caribou, OCD Racing joined in the action as Jesse Taggett clenched the fastest reac tion time off the line. The mini classes proved once again to be this year’s fan favorite as the youngest racers took to the grass for the chance to experience the taste of drag racing. Of the 16 mini racers in attendance, Oakley Caron wore a first-place medal home and Rylie Clark demonstrated girls can race, too! New to the circuit this year was a minibike class that was nothing short of comical entertainment for the crowd of around 1500. Hampshire, Vermont and across Maine to sup port our clubs and the sport of snowmobiling! The Big Woods Grass Drags’ stellar team of volunteers worked thousands of hours tire lessly planning, executing, setting up, and tear ing down. The generous donations received from our sponsors and community support, has turned this race into the biggest snowmobile race Maine. Thank you to all, it is all made pos sible by you! This year featured two days of loud and fast racing with 98 registered sleds and a total of 187 entries in 22 different classes; a whopping $10,400 paid out to our winners! Team Jarvis dominated the winner’s podium with nine dif ferent medals and earned themselves the big gest shootout pay of $2500.
