We have at least one trail reroute to do as well as a few culverts to install this fall. We have a lot of trails that are not ATV trails, so they will need to be inspected for downed trees and other damage. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Norway Town Hall. We host a pot luck dinner starting at 6:15 with the meeting starting at 6:45. Everyone is wel come and encouraged to attend. We are always looking for new members. There were over 200 sleds registered in Nor way last year but we only had 67 family mem berships. The Norway Trackers takes great pride in our local trail system and supporting the community. We encourage you, if you ride our trails, to support us. Without mem bers, there would be no Norway Trail system. A family membership is only $35 and can be done digitally through a link on our Facebook account and through Venmo. You may also send us an email and we can send you links or mail you hard copies. Look us up on Facebook. We have a lot of info there including meeting and trail updates and just fun bits about snowmobiling. JOIN A CLUB, SUPPORT THE SPORT Dan Trouant, Membership Chair

Hello All, Here’s hoping the most updated topic on the MSA site this season is “Where’s The Snow.” Membership notices and Super Raffle Tick ets are being sent to last year’s membership. New applicants can contact Amy Champany at 414dunbar@gmail.com or 207-566-5097. Still a great option is six raffle tickets for $10.00. Help your club, the MSA and perhaps yourself! Locally, the annual Snow Fest will be February 15, 2025 to be held at noon at the boat-landing on Embden Pond. Look for updates on our Facebook page. Speaking of Facebook, please give attention there for trail maintenance, starting soon, and meeting dates to be posted soon. We do have a bridge out on the trail from Concord Corner towards Pleasant Ridge. Currently, the reroute for that closure is via the west shore trails. Here’s hoping for winter conditions more suitable to winter outdoor activity than we’ve had the last couple seasons. Be safe and courteous out there! Still your Cub reporter ROME RUFF RIDERS Rome, ME The Rome Ruff Riders were awarded our third Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant and we got to it right away. We started in April with a Request For Proposal solicitation. The contract was awarded to Mainly Trails and work began in mid-May. A large section of the East Side Trail was ditched and several culverts were installed to redirect water flow off the hillside. Three new steel framed bridges were installed to replace undersized and problematic culverts. The first phase of work was completed in June. The trail has been drying out nicely and work will resume and be completed by the end of summer. These upgrades will slow trail ero sion, significantly improve our ability to groom and prolong our base throughout the season. We have also contracted Snow Buggy to fabricate a new drag to be used with a second side by side groomer. We hope to begin the season with a side-by-side groomer and 76” drag paired with a sled groomer and 50” drag on both sides of the lake. As in the past some club members will use personal machines for additional grooming resources. We will again publish the regional C4 map and those will be available from participating clubs and at the Rome Town Hall. Our meet ings are the second Tuesday of the month Sep tember to April, 7:00 PM at the Rome Town Hall. All are welcome. Hello Fellow Snowmobilers, I have taken the job to be our club reporter once again. We have just finished our 37 th year of our chicken BBQ, which was a great success once again. Thank you to all who supported our club. We are getting ready to start trail work and work around the club house. We are asking for your help once again. Look for upcoming dates on working on our Facebook account. It has been a great summer and hopefully a snowy winter. Be on the lookout for your club membership package, it will be in the mail shortly. Please return as soon as possible. Our club will be manning a vender site at the upcoming New Portland Lions Agricul tural Fair selling MSA raffle tickets on Sep tember 13,14, and 15 th . Come on by and take a chance on a new ride or trailer, plus other gifts. Also don’t forget to put this on your cal endar of things to do. The MSA Snow Show October 18,19,and 20 th . ings at their homes. Thanks to all for hosting. As the season nears, talk is already under way as to trail work, what’s needed where and how is it going to get done. Many hands make the load lighter for all. Club purchased a 2023 Honda Pioneer 1000-3 for trail maintenance and purchased tracks for grooming. Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates and gives us lots of rideable snow this year. Annual camping trip to Cathedral Pines in September is always a fun get away, with presea son talks of upcoming club events and trail work. Our meetings are held 1 st and 3 rd Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m. The 3 rd Tuesday a potluck supper starting at 6:15 p.m. with meeting to fol low at 7 p.m. We have some mighty fine cooks. WESTERN REGION Fryeburg Area sc Fryeburg, ME Greetings everyone, I hope you’ve all had good spring and sum mer seasons. The leaves are already starting to turn and fall is in the air! Let’s hope there’s a good winter in our future! I’d like to start this letter by saying a huge thank you to Cliff Taber for all his hard work on building our new warming hut which will be out on the trails this winter. Anyone interested in helping with finishing the hut is welcome as there are still a few things needed to complete the project. It’s currently sitting at Watson’s Garage so the work will be done there. We will post the winter location on our Facebook page once we’ve decided exactly where it’s going to be so keep an eye out for that. As with many clubs we’re seeing some of our older members/volunteers aging out so we’re in dire need for some younger folks to step up and get involved. Without new people to take over, the club may be in trouble going forward. I don’t think many people realize just how much work it takes to keep things run ning from the fall into the springtime. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, even if you’re only available a weekend or two to complete the needed projects. We have some bridgework to get done from both wear and tear to the crazy storm damage. As always, we’re looking for volunteers to work in our fair booth selling the MSA Super Raffle tickets. Please call me at (603) 986-7293 or shoot me an email at m021801@ yahoo.com if you’d like to work a shift or two. Shifts are from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM daily and 2 people are needed for each shift. Membership cards/letters have mailed out so please check the info on your card, keep the stub on the end and mail in your renewal with your check payable to Fryeburg Area Snow mobile Assoc. You can also pay via Venmo and just mail the card back by itself as our address is stamped on the back of each one. If you know of anyone who’d like to join, please have them reach out and I’ll send them a card to do the same. Sincerely, Bridget Gorton, Club Secretary Norway Trackers Norway, ME Find us on Facebook norwaytrackerssnowmobileclub@gmail.com Welcome back everyone, Nothing makes a hot day feel more refresh ing than dreaming about riding your sled down some freshly groomed trails. Greetings all, I hope everyone has had a great summer. It certainly has been awesome....if you like hot weather. The guys have had a much-needed break from rebuilding bridges. They must be at a loss of what to do with all their free time :) They are a dedicated group and will pull together when the need arises. Luckily, the only major trail work needed this year is to smooth up an area of 89N. Morse Logging is working in the area and we can hopefully work with them to get the job done. Club members hosted the 3 rd annual land owner’s appreciation cookout in early May. Jim worked his magic on the grill. Members cooked and donated salads, chili, and deserts. The food was fantastic and was a mutual appre ciation between landowners and club members. Happy news, the youngest club members got engaged over the summer. We are all very happy for them. The oldest members will be celebrating their 50 th anniversary in Septem ber. How fast those years have flown by. We have been snowmobiling together since age 17 and still enjoy getting out on the trails. The days are getting shorter and the eve nings are getting cooler. An indication that snow is not that far off. Our club meetings are the 3 rd Wednesday at 6pm each month at the club house on School bus drive. We welcome new members and look forward to seeing cur rent members. We will be electing officers at the first meeting in September. See you on the trails soon. Leah Frechette, Club Reporter
