April 1, 2024 Dear Neighbors, April 1, 2024 Dear Neighbors,

I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. I deeply appreciate the opportunity to continue serving as your State Senator. It remains the highest honor of my life to represent you in the Maine State Legislature, and I remain committed to working hard for you every single day. I am back in the State House and continuing to serve as Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry. It has been a privilege to serve Maine and its farmers. That’s why we worked diligently to pass strong bipartisan legislation that supports our hardworking farmers. I was proud to sponsor LD 315, which helped farmers plan and create a sustainable water and irrigation system. Maine farms are crucial to our way of life, and it is important that lawmakers look out for them. Looking ahead, it’s clear that we need to build on the work done last year and continue to address the housing crisis that has displaced too many of our family and friends, protect Maine families’ access to quality health care, and address the serious threat of PFAS contamination in our state. For the latter, I am proud to sponsor LD 1537, which will amend the current law regarding PFAS in products and will ban PFAS in certain products outright such as dental floss, cookware, outerwear, and juvenile products, meaning items meant for infants and children. This issue requires bringing all voices to the table to help find a solution. I will continue to work alongside fellow legislators, farmers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, advocates, and others to work towards a cleaner and healthier Maine. I want to remind you that I am a resource for you all year. If you need to contact a state agency or department or want to share a comment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can send me an email at Henry.Ingwersen@legislature.maine.gov or call my office at 207-287-1515. I’m also available on Facebook at Facebook.com/IngwersenForMaine.
