A special thank you to Scout David Goodwin who volunteered to restore the library gazebo and build benches inside to reach his Eagle Scout goal! Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering: nglibrary@newgloucester.com or 207-926-4840. Friends of the New Gloucester Public Library: Our Friends group continued their long tradition of fundraising, volunteerism, and advocacy for the library. In FY2023, the Friends’ officers were President Noreen Williams, Vice President Sharon Scannell, Secretary Nancy Thomas, and Treasurer Annemarie Salzberg. The Friends maintain the library’s gardens, supply refreshments, and assist with programs. The Friends added five colorful picnic tables, to expand the limited seating outside and patrons have been enjoying the library inside and out. The Friends hosted two book and bake sales in the Community Building. During Friends of the library week in October we celebrated them with a gathering and refreshments. Funds donated by the Friends supported programs, collections, and park passes at the library. Thank you for your generosity, time, and hard work!
