trippers, to give them a heads up on the boating laws, warden presence and our environmental concerns. There are a few very important things for you to consider when you load up the boat with the cooler and those most precious to you. What if something happens to the driver while out on the lake? Does someone else in the boat know the way home? Can they drive the boat safely home? Should you really let your kids or guests sit on the front of the boat with their legs dangling over the edge? What are the risks? Even though you think you can swim, wouldn’t it be a great example to actually put your life jacket on? The answers to these questions and more information can be found on our website at https://littlesebagolake.com/safety-is-no accident/#moorings Please take the time to read the information that we have published to help keep you safe this summer. Remember, safety is no accident. It takes diligent preparation and planning. Remember to count passengers and life jackets, check gas levels, train someone how to take control if you cannot, keep as far from the shore and others as possible and know the boating laws. And don’t forget, if anyone in your family was born after January 1, 1999, they will need to take one of the Boating Safety clasess that are readily available and are now mandatory. Here is the link to one: https://www.maine.gov/ ifw/programs-resources/educational-programs/ safety-courses/boating-safety.html There are many free classes offered, but if you take one that has a fee, LSLA will cover that cost for you if you are a supporting member of our association. 2/3

This summer we will continue the Warden Service every weekend and extra days during the 4 th of July week. We continue to see improvement in the statistics and clearly see a reduction in the citations written. Most of us are learning to follow the laws of the State of Maine as we know there will be enforcement. This translates to a safer lake with less accidents and an environment that protects our precious shorelines. The LSLA Safety Patrol boat will also be out as a gentle reminder to pay close attention at all times. We will also be at the Boat launch on weekend mornings to meet and greet renters or day
