The Little Sebago Lake Assoc. 2023 Scholarship Awards
To help support our local communities and to encourage lake stewardship, the Board of Directors created a new scholarship in 2015. The goal of this scholarship is to assist graduating high school students who enroll in a college program to pursue a degree in general environmental sciences, water quality or watershed management. Since 2015, two $500 scholarships were awarded each year, one to a graduating senior from Windham High School and one from Gray-New Gloucester High School. In celebration of our 100th anniversary, the board increased the scholarships to $1,000 each starting in 2024.
Hello, my name is Lily Terry. I graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School in 2023 and was awarded the Little Sebago Lake Association Scholarship and the Crystal Lake Association Scholarship. I now attend Plymouth State University as an Environmental Science and Policy major. I enjoyed my courses during the first semester, making friends, swimming in the Pemigewasset River, hiking, and skiing. I look forward to my spring classes, one of which includes a course on drinking water. Thank you very much for this scholarship from Little Sebago Lake Assoc. I am so grateful!
Hi, my name is Emma Casale. I would like to thank the Little Sebago Lake Association for awarding me with this scholarship. Many people don’t understand how important and meaningful the environment is. Living in Maine, surrounded by lakes, oceans, and forests, is something that I once took for granted, but I would not want to be anywhere else. That is why I am excited to be attending Saint Joseph’s College of Maine as a biology/Pre-Physician Assistant major with a Chemistry minor. Thank you again to the members of the Little Sebago Lake Association. This scholarship means so much to me and I would not be able to continue my education without your help. LSLA is proud to help support these hard-working students as they pursue their education and careers.
