Eastern Regional Meeting in East Machias By Eileen Lafland

O n November 16th an East ern regional meeting was held in East Machias with clubs from Washington and Hancock County invited. Approximately twenty club members attended representing the following clubs: Downeast Trail Riders, Machias Ridge Riders, Airline Riders, Ellsworth SC, Narragua gus SC, Princeton Pathfinders, and the St. Croix Trail Riders. Guest speakers for the meeting included Machias Town Man ager Bill Kitchen, DACF Joe

Higgins and MSA Trail Chair person Brent Spaulding. Also in attendance were eastern regional directors Gary Dow ling and Larry Lafland along with MSA eastern region VP Eileen Lafland and BPL/ORV representative Eric Sprague. A BIG THANK YOU goes to Gary Dowling and the Down East Trail Riders for finding a place to hold the event and for setting up the hall and clean up. Joe Higgins presented grant information to the clubs and

shared information regarding funding, grant deadlines and other news from his department and Brent Spaulding shared signing information to clubs. Town Manager Bill Kitchen shared information about the causeway project and the Sun rise Trail as well as thanked everyone for all they do to make snowmobiling in the area what it is. Eileen Lafland supplied clubs with contest forms and scholarship information as well as other information from MSA.
