Wherever your destination, you’ll discover The Forks as a convenient hub with miles of well-groomed, well-signed trails. Kennebec River Loop ➥ 20 miles Round Trip Ride the trail out of Northern Outdoors to the junction of ITS 87. Take ITS 87 north to the ITS 86 junction on the Boise Road (Trail Junction ST 9). Follow ITS 86 west/ITS 87 north back toward The Forks. Just before town, take the Kennebec River Trail back to Northern Outdoors. Add Maine’s tallest waterfall to this loop by hiking into Moxie Falls off of ITS 87. Bingham Wind Mills – Kingsbury Plt. ➥ 55 miles Round Trip Head out on the trail behind Northern Outdoors. Take a right on to ITS 87 south. Continue on ITS 87 south and turn left onto the Pleasant Pond Trail (Pleasant Pond Mountain on your left / Moxie Mountain on the right). The Pleasant Pond Trail turns into the Bald Mountain Trail. Continue North on the Bald Mountain Trail to an intersection and continue straight on the Breakneck Ridge Trail. Stay on the Breakneck Ridge Trail to the intersection with the Wind Mill Trail. Turn right on the Windmill Trail, continue south on the Wind Mill Trail and past the wind turbines until you get to ITS 87. As you ride up the ridge, you will see the Bingham Wind Farm, and mountain views lining the horizon. Continue on

The Forks Area Trails Club maintains approximately 100 miles of top quality groomed trails and connects to the larger Maine Interconnecting Trail System (ITS) 86, 87, & 89. Extending north to Jackman, west to Eustis, east to Moosehead Lake, and south to Bingham, snowmobiling in The Forks is Maine snowmobiling at its best, with varying terrain that makes for exciting riding and spectacular scenery. Vast pine, spruce, and birch forests, frozen rivers and lakes, mountain ranges, and quaint logging towns all provide outstanding adventure. Our central location in the heart of Maine’s prime snowmobiling region makes Northern Outdoors an ideal hub from which to explore.
