It’s that time of year again when we start thinking snow and snowmobiling. We will be in great shape if we get as much snow this winter as we have rain this summer. Our trails crew had big plans to get some of the problem trails in better condition but the problem has been all the rain and mud, therefore no work has been started as yet. Hopefully, this fall will dry out and allow for the needed trail work. We held our second annual landowner appreciation cookout the end of May. Turnout was good and hope will increase with each year as landowners begin to plan on it happen ing. As many towns in Maine, Buckfield real estate market has exploded in recent years/ months. With each new landowner, there is always the fear of losing another snowmobile trail. That requires meeting and greeting the new owners and hope they are snowmobile enthusiasts. Let’s all hope for a great snowmobile sea son. As a reminder, meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month 6pm at the club house on School Bus Drive off Merrill St. We hope to see you all there. See you on the trails. STREAKED MOUNTAINEERS sc Buckfield, ME

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and do some snow dancing in hopes of a good winter and lots of snow! Hi there! Do you remember all the signs that would predict a winter when we would get more or less snow....colder or warmer than usual... plus a handful of other such things? Well, this spring and summer have been nothing but rain, showers, chance of showers, etc. So, because of that.... MY prediction for this winter....LOTS of heavenly snow and cold to keep it good until spring! That’s it....and I’m sticking to it. Terri Major, Secretary Hello from Andover Maine, we hope you all are having a good summer. It’s that time of the year we are waiting for, the changing of color and the smell of dead leaves tells us winter is soon on its way. It has been a long summer with all the rain we have had and we are opti mistic that winter will prove to be better. We had our annual Andover Old Home Days; we met a lot of new people and rekin dled some old friendships. We had a booth set up selling t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. As we wind down the “DOG DAYS OF AUGUST” - just a quick recap of this very unusual wet and boring summer. Gail and I have attended a few local festivals (Dover Whoopie Pie Festival, Glen burn Community Festival, Dexter Hot Dog Festival) to name some. All these were very well pulled together amidst some sun and rain. Some of those “HOT “days make you won der what the winter weather will be like this season. Eddie, myself and a few other members have been busy trying to stay ahead of the lawn mowing and weed whacking at the club house, seems to be slowing done a little bit for now. THANK YOU ALL. Carrie has had the Rec. Department operat ing full tilt with her staff running the Summer Rec. Program. They have also added a new look out front with a new sign and beautiful flowers surrounded by some nice stonework, looks GREAT, nice touch team. Hello everyone. Wow has summer flown by. We haven’t had our first official meeting yet but have already been talking about what needs to get done. As everyone knows it’s been a really wet year so we’ve got a lot of bridge repair to be done. We completed some much-needed attention to the sleds and drags in the off-season. They all have the same hitch and hookup on the drags now. Snow will be here before we know it. Thank you to all the clubs out there and all you do. VP Ben Hadley EASTERN REGION

Holy moly where has summer gone? It’s really only the middle of August as I write this for the September newsletter, but it sure is starting to feel like Fall in the evenings. We hope you had a great summer and are ready to gear up for a wonderful winter!

We were busy at the clubhouse this spring and into early summer. Phase two of our club house renovation was completed. This was putting on insulation board and new metal siding so we don’t have to continue trying to paint the old wooden siding. Also included in that was checking on the outside oil tank and building a new insulated dog house around that also covered in the matching metal. Thank you to Trailmaster Larry, President Troy, Vice President Brent and coincidentally member Phase two of clubhouse updating with metal siding and insulation
