ANNUAL REPORT New Gloucester Water District

The New Gloucester Water District continues maintenance and operation of the pump station and distribution system with the assistance of Planet Wastewater Services of Richmond, Maine, our contract operator. The submersible pump and a second expansion tank installed last year continue to operate properly. The Trustees will be considering a backup to that pump and repair of old pump this coming year to provide some redundancy in the system. The district’s source well is tested on a regular basis for a range of water quality parameters in accordance with State requirements. This past summer, the system was tested for PFAS and all results met EPA and DEP drinking water requirements. The test results will be posted on the Water District section of the Town webpage for review. Our customers can be confident in the high quality and safety of our public water supply.
