for Novice Snowmobilers MSA Northern Director

and when you’ll be back (tentatively).

Don’t let your mother come looking for you or you’ll wish you’re still buried with that sled. Having a game plan and leaving a note or messaging someone

or zip ties in that fresh packed bag. 6. Long days of riding should NOT end with a few alcoholic beverages unless you are home. Just saying. You’re Evil Knievel comes out with the liquid cour age, and you think you’re the next new Rave-X performer. Uh, NO! Don’t Drink & Ride! 5. Never pass a gas station or a bathroom. No explana tion needed. 4.The biggest one I learn and still struggle to this day… When in doubt, throttle out. Letting go when you’re in the ‘thick’ of it, will sink you faster than theTitanic.Yes, even for you big boys with the Battleship Tanks or the 300 foot long track and 15” paddles! Start your walk-of shame going round and round that sunken sled, that now seems to have gone from light and agile, to heavy and senile…well that’s what you’re going to feel like when you’re done digging theTitanic out of what seems like 15 feet of snow walls all around you. Never mind what you friends think about you now, that’s another subject for another day. 3. Do tell someone where your going (or roundabouts)

of your plans is not a bad idea. And with today’s technology, you could at least send out a few messages on location, keep your location on or get one of them fancy GPS gadgets that could find a hair on your chin. 2. TP…you know, the soft bottom wiper. Listen, don’t let vanity keep you from dropping your drawers and hugging a tree. If you must, then a roll of TP in your ‘bag’ feels like the biggest survival item in your kit. 1. Volunteer . All kidding aside, you may look all cool and have all the latest and greatest, but don’t be going over landowner grounds, club trails and passing all kinds of signage and trimmed trees and all the good things that come with snowmobiling and take all that work done by volunteers, some twice your age, for granted. Join a club, or two and give them a few hours of your time. It’s always appreciated. Enjoy your snowmobiling years, be safe and stay right. Carry in and carry out…keep it white!
