CHEBEAGUE ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY October 2022 Harvest Open House at the Museum October 16th from 1PM to 4PM Has your summer been too busy to visit the Museum? Or, have you seen the Exhibit but didn’t have enough time to find all your friends and family among the hundreds of photos? Then please join us for cider and treats at our Harvest Open House on 10/16 (1 to 4PM). The Museum Shop will be open during the Open House.

Our regular Museum Shop and Exhibit hours will end for the season on October 9th. We have received great response to “Growing Up on Chebeague” and it will be back in 2023 if you missed it! Once again, we would like to thank the hard-working Exhibit Com mittee that spent countless hours preparing, describ

ing, and displaying the hundreds of photographs and dozens of artifacts. The result was truly fantastic and greatly enjoyed by everyone who visited this year. There is still time to visit us on a few weekends before we close. For those who can’t visit this year, and won’t be back next year, we are happy to arrange a visit. Just leave a phone message at the Museum and we will return your call. Admission is always FREE! ELLSWORTH MILLER MEMORIAL LECTURE SERIES Many thanks to Nick Wessell for his great presentation on September 12th - “Vladimir Putin: Should We Fear Him?” Please join us at the Chebeague Community Church or via Zoom on October 10, 2022 @ 7PM for “Chebeague Weather: Past, Present and Future.” Bill Danielson, professor emeritus (University of Hartford) will be our speaker. MUSEUM SHOP UPDATES If you haven’t purchased your 2023 Cathy MacNeill calendar yet, you’re in luck! We have reduced the price to $18.50. More good news—on 10/8 and 10/9 all merchandise (except artwork) will be discounted 30% ! We will end 2022 regular hours on 10/9, but will be open during the Harvest Open House on 10/16 and other times for holi day shopping. Check our upcoming newsletters and Facebook page for updates!
