TOWN OF HOLLIS ROAD COMMISSIONER’S REPORT 2020-2021

As the town of Hollis Road Commissioner, I work with the taxpayers, selectboard, code enforcement, planning board, utility companies, MDOT, and neighboring towns to oversee the maintenance and repairs of all the roads within the town. I am continually working to provide the residents of Hollis the best service possible, while constantly looking for new cost savings methods to maintain and improve the roads in our growing community. Some of the highlights for this year were: • Muddy Brook Rd was re-opened after completing a temporary repair to a 42” culvert • Sebago Technics was contracted to design, requests bids and oversee the construction of a large stream crossing culvert on Muddy Brook Road • Sebago Technics applied for a grant up to $150,000.00 from the DEP for replacements of the large stream crossing culvert on Muddy Brook Rd. • Skid Steer of Maine was awarded the contract to replace the culvert on Muddy Brook Rd • Construction to start in the Fall of 2021 • Carroll Materials ground, added cement, and paved Lower Tarbox Rd • Carroll Materials resurfaced: Crestwood Cir, Fairwood Cir, Northwood Cir, Ledgewood Dr, Kingswood Dr, Oakwood Dr, Heather Ln, History Ln, and the bridge deck and approaches on Chadbourne Ridge Road • Total snow fall for winter of 2020-2021 was 45 inches • Posting of Town Roads in the Spring Activities for the 2020-2021 year include: • Replace culverts and/or ditching-shouldering on the following roads: • Lower Tarbox Rd, Crestwood Cir, Ledgewood Dr, Kingwoods Dr, Shy Beaver Rd, etc. • Completed a temporary repair to a 42” culvert on Muddy Brook Road • Continued assisting the Hollis Fire Department and State Police as needed • Continued mowing shoulders of town roads, cutting brush, and tree removal • Grading and dust control on dirt roads • Cold patching paved roads

• Sign and guardrail repair or replacement • Sweeping, striping, and crack sealing roads

2020-2021 has been another very busy year. Working with the select board, we have been able to rebuild and improve many of our towns’ worst roads and have several more to lined up to do next year. I appreciate your continued support while we work to maintain and improve our roads. It is a privilege for me to continue to serve the residents and taxpayers of the Town of Hollis.
