ANNUAL REPORT New Gloucester Water District

The New Gloucester Water District continues maintenance and operation of the pump station and distribution system with the assistance of Planet Wastewater Services of Richmond, Maine, our contract operator. Last spring, one of the pumps began failing and was taken out of service and replaced with a submersible pump and a second expansion tank. The Trustees anticipate reduced electricity costs and longer life with this new system. During the past year, the NGWD has also seen an increase of six new residential customers. The District’s source well is tested on a regular basis for a range of water quality parameters in accordance with State requirements. We will post test results on the Water District section of the Town webpage for review, when they are available. Our customers can be confident in the high quality and safety of our public water supply. New Gloucester Water District thanks its customers and the Town for their continued support.
