How I Got Here Stephanie Hampton and Dick Schelling moved to Chebeague Island just before the COVID pandemic shut everything down in 2019. They had been frequent visitors to the island while residents of Portland and would tour the island by bicycle. A lovely mansard roof house on Firehouse Road caught their eye on their trips around the island. When the house came on the market, they bought it! Luckily, they were able to work remotely on Chebeague during the pandemic and continue to -- Stephanie is a legal compliance officer for Sun Life and Dick is a technical writer and graphic designer. Before living in Portland, the couple lived in Hanover, New Hampshire where they raised their four children.

Stephanie and Dick are artists and musicians, so they fit right in. They also came to Chebeague with an Ensign sailboat! How’s that for kismet?
