GENERAL INFORMATION

Fish and Game Licenses Resident fishing license at $27 per license or hunting licenses at $28 per license may be obtained from the office of the Town Clerk. The cost of a Combination Fishing and Hunting License is $45. A Junior Hunting License may be obtained for persons ten years of age and under 16 years of age for $9. Other licenses that may be obtained are: Archery, Archery/Fishing Combination, Expanded Archery Antlered & Antlerless Deer, Bear Permit, Migratory Waterfowl, Muzzle Loading, Small Game, Outdoor Partners, Crossbow, Pheasant, Spring/Fall Turkey, Coyote Night Hunt, Salt Water Registry, Superpack, and Apprentice Hunt

Vehicle Registrations New registrations, as well as re-registrations, can be done at Town Hall without going to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. To register a vehicle you must have the vehicle identification number, year, make, model, color, current mileage and your insurance card. With a new registration you will need (from a dealer) the Dealer’s Bill of Sale/Invoice, an Application for Title (for brand new vehicles, the window sticker must be presented to the Motor Vehicle Clerk), or from a private sale (from another individual) a Title and a Bill of Sale. The Town of Buxton has become part of the Rapid Renewal Service (RRS), Maine’s online vehicle registration system sponsored by the Office of the Secretary of State. Rapid Renewal may be accessed through Buxton’s web site, www.buxton.me.us or on www.sosonline.org, the Department of the Secretary of State’s site for online services. Rapid Renewal Service is available only for renewals of registrations previously processed in Buxton, and accepted forms of payment are electronic check or Credit Card. New registrations must still be processed at the Town Office.
