W elcome to the Western Moun- tains. We offer some great views and destinations here in the West. I’ll start with Café Relli’s warm- ing hut right off of ITS84 in New Port- land. Bill and Kathy Caferelli have made this a destination for snowmo- bilers from all over the state. With some of the best homemade chili this side of the Texas border. It’s run by donations and after they fill up their

cabinets, they go shopping for the local food pantry. Another great place for pictures right off of ITS 84 is Allen’s Pinnacle a great view of the Western Moun- tains. Then you could travel north on ITS 115 to Carrabassett to The Bige- low Lodge which over looks Flagstaff Lake. JVWING Snowmobile Club has been running the Lodge for the last 5 years for the State of Maine. Stop

in and chat with Travis Roderick and his family, get warmed up, have a hot drink and enjoy the scenic views. From there you will head north to Grand Falls, make sure your camera is working it’s a hidden gem. Then as you’re headed from Eustis on ITS 89 to Rangeley make a stop at Quill Hill with a 360 degree view - it’s definitely worth the stop! Then on to Rangeley everyone

wants to head to Rangeley home of the famous Snodeo and over 160 miles of trails. You can take ITS89 to North Franklin S.C In Phillips and back to Kingfield. This is a 200 plus mile trip and if you slow down you might see a moose or two. I always say we live in the greatest zoo in the world without the cages. Remember snowmobiling is not a race - slow down and enjoy the scenery.
