On December 28th, 2020, the green flag dropped in this iron dog style MSA Virtual Snocross Race and the snow was flying!!

The Gorham SnoGoers, Narraguagus SC, and the Red Arrow SC all lined up but stalled out in the hole and never got their sleds started again. Ebee- mee SC and the Mattawamkeag Road Runners gunned it at the green flag but tangled skis at the 10-mile marker leaving their machines broken and unrepairable. The Bucksport Family SC and the Hillside Family Riders both made it to the 25-mile marker but stopped by the snack shack for an all-you-can-eat red hotdog buffet and never returned! While they were inside the We Groom So You Can Zoom, Waterford Sno-Packers and The Forks Area Trail Club came sailing by then took a wrong turn leaving them lost between the 30-to-50-mile marker. We are still looking for them! Burlington Back Country Riders, Woodland Wanderers, the Night Drifters, Cobboseecontee SC, and the Slippery Sliders had the hammer down and going strong but then had a spectator tell them they could go “carve” the hillside in the deep snow on his property and remained at the 55- to-100- mile marker but they got some awesome videos! The Rock-O-Dundee Riders and Fort Kent SnoRiders were in a fierce battle and riding hard right up until the 150-mile marker where they came across a moose in the trail, so they stopped and shut their sleds off to take pictures only to find they were out of gas and had to start making the long walk back to the closest gas station, each with a little red gas caddie in hand. Now this group of racers ran hard through this race! The Ashland SC, Readfield Blizzard Busters, Portage Lake SC, Winthrop Hillandalers, Minot Moon- shiners, and Norway Trackers were tearing this track up from the 195 to the 320-mile marker until they all stopped for a night’s rest and a nightcap. Let us just say whatever the Minot Moonshiners brought to this party for a nightcap left them all sleeping in their cabins for the remainder of the race! The Jefferson SnoPackers, Paul Bunyan SC, St. Albans Sno-Devils, and the EMSC Holeshot Hooligans are impressive, to say the least! With some of the smallest pit crews in this race, their racers held up and remained strong throughout the cold, wind, and snow and put on one heck of a showing to arrive between the 400 and 810-mile marker!! A group of strong scrappy Maineah’s, to say the least! A super impressive showing by the Bog Hooters SC, the Lincoln Snowhounds, and the Sacopee Valley Snow Drifters! These three riders gave it every- thing they had, rode their machines to the brink, and tore this track up! The Bog Hooters SC rode an impressive 1055 miles, with the Lincoln Snow- hounds ending their race at mile marker 1375 and the Sacopee Valley Snow Drifters coming in at mile marker 1945!! Nice job racers!!! No words can describe our top two finalists, the Kingfield Sno-Wanderers, and the Rangeley Lakes SC other than wow!! These two racers came out of the hole on fire, traded paint all race, passed their goals early in the race, and kept their thumb on the throttle until the end! These two have no quit in them and the winner of this race came down to the last few seconds. The Rangeley Lakes SC ended this race at the incredible 4950-mile marker and the Kingfield Sno-Wanderers were the only team to cross the 5000-mile marker finish line and showed the size of their heart and continued to mile marker 5685 to finish up this race in first place on February 28th, 2021!! Thank you to all of those who donated, the local clubs that participated and to our amazing sponsors who supported the MSA Virtual Snocross Race because together we raised over $21,700!!!
