Notes From Council
It is a new year and it is not too early to order seeds, think about summer fun at the Rec., or enter your ideas for the 4th of July Parade. Okay, maybe it is a little too early and maybe a little overly optimistic, but this year we should be able to have some version of the Council’s traditional 4th of July Parade with floats, music, clowns, and prizes. Remember, the winning idea gets 15 minutes of private shopping at School House Seconds’ Opening Day. And yes, some version of that amazing retail experience may be possible too! Hopefully, by then we will all have had the opportunity to be vaccinated and we’ll be ready to enjoy summer on Chebeague. Maine
Health has assured us that once community COVID vaccine Clinics are being offered they will be coming to Chebeague. Many Islanders will be eligible to receive a COVID vaccine before then. This is new territory for health care providers as well as the community and exactly what, when, where, and how is evolving. Everyone is encouraged to stay informed, check in with your doctor’s office, check the Maine CDC web site, and feel free to call the Council if you have questions. Dr. Larson is here every Friday and is a great resource for keeping us all up to date.
This year is Recompense’s 30 th Anniversary
Our mission has been our inspiration since we began in 1991: To sustain Chebeague as a year-round community by supporting its nonprofit organizations.
