Office Hours— We are open Monday,Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As always, if you need assistance at other times, please don’t hesitate to call (846-3148) and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.We will be closed Monday April 15 in observance of Patriots’ Day. Nomination Papers Available for Selectmen and School Committee Positions— Nomination papers are available at the Town Office. We have four vacancies: two for the Board of Selectmen and two for the School Committee. So, if you have thought about ways to give back to your community, here’s an opportunity. To serve on either board, you must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the state as well as a U.S. citizen, and a registered voter of the Town of Chebeague Island. The deadline is April 12!!! Tax Bills— T he second half of the tax bill was due March 29, 2019. Interest at 8% began to accrue March 30, 2019. If you have any questions, please contact the Town Office. Mooring Applications—The 2019 Mooring Applications have been mailed. Please return this form with your payment to facilitate the process. If you have questions, please call the Town Office. Bennett’s Cove Parking— P lease be aware that the Traffic and Parking Ordinance has been amended. Overnight parking (midnight to 7:00 a.m.) is prohibited on Bennett’s Cove Road, and no parking

is allowed in the turnaround at the bottom of Bennett’s Cove Road.

Transfer Station— TheTransfer Station is now open for summer hours (I know it’s not summer yet): Monday and Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00, Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 1:30 to 5:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Transfer Station is closed Tuesday. Please remember that this is a pay-as-you-throw facility. RECYCLING NEWS!!— Be aware! ecomaine continues to charge us for contaminated recycled materials that are sent to them. Contaminated items are basically garbage that gets in the wrong container. We are doing better, but the last container we sent to ecomaine included 20+ loose empty plastic bags, four pieces of styrofoam, and a shirt, for a total of 2% contamination. If you don’t know which items are appropriate for recycling, please ask the attendant or check the side of the recycling container for information. We do not want to be charged for contamination, so please be diligent about what you place in the recycling container. We are looking for 0% contamination!
