Reconciling Congregation Discernment Process— To live more fully into CUMC’s vision and mission, our congregation is taking steps to become inclusive of every person who comes through our sanctuary doors. As part of this process, we’ll have several opportunities for learning and conversation about how to be inclusive of our LGBTQ sisters and brothers. “Claiming the Promise” is a study about what the Bible has to say about homosexuality, especially looking at those passages that traditionally have been used to demean, exclude, and harm. It is a 3-week study beginning on Saturday March 30 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Wentworths’. Contact Pastor Melissa if you are interested. If you are interested but can’t make that time, please note what works so we can get a second group going. We will also have three congregational conversations in the Parish House—a time for questions, sharing, and listening. These dates are Sunday March 31 following worship, Sunday May 5 at 3:00 p.m., and Wednesday May 15 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Melissa, Jackie Trask, Karen Corson, or Polly Wentworth.
