Town of Buxton, Maine December 14, 2016 Special Town Meeting Results

At a meeting of the inhabitants, legal voters of the Town of Buxton in the State of Maine and County of York, duly warned and notified as per Warrant, held at the Buxton Municipal Building, 185 Portland Road in said Buxton on December 14, 2016, acting on the Warrant Articles. The Special Town Meeting was called to order by Town Clerk John L. Myers, Jr. at 7:17 pm. The meeting was called to order latter than the posted 7:00 pm, due to the large attendance checking in with voter registration. Officials seated at the front table: Board of Selectmen Clifford L. Emery, Chair, Jean C. Harmon, Vice Chair, Chad E. Poitras, Dennis P. Santolucito, Mark J. Blier, and Town Clerk John Myers. The Town Clerk proceeded with Article 1 to choose a moderator to preside at said meeting. Article 1. Motion made by Clifford Emery and 2 nd by Jean Harmon to nominate Hiram R. Davis as moderator. Motion made by Clifford Emery and 2 nd by Jean Harmon to cease nominations. Affirmative vote, nominations ceased. Three written ballots were cast all in favor of HiramR. Davis as Moderator. The Town Clerk administered the oath of office to the Moderator, Hiram R. Davis. Motion made by Clifford Emery and 2 nd by Jean Harmon to appropriate from undesignated surplus $39,405.25 (Thirty Nine Thousand Four Hundred Five Dollars and Twenty Five Cents) to reconcile the following accounts from fiscal year 2015-2016. The Moderator declared an Affirmative Vote on the motion.

Article 3.

Motion made by Clifford Emery and 2 nd by Thomas Kennie to accept Davis Road of Daniels Estates Subdivision, an existing private road in Buxton, as a Town owned and maintained road. Davis Road is located on the southerly side of Old Thompson Road in the Chicopee area of Buxton, Tax Map 2, Lot 59.

The Moderator declared an Affirmative Vote on the motion.
