Article 57.

Shall an ordinance entitled “Amendments to the Town of Buxton Ordinance Relating to Victualers’” be enacted as follows? Amend Ordinance “Relating to Victualers’” Licenses as follows (Additions are bold and underlined , deletions are strikethrough): No person shall be a common innkeeper or Victualer without a license, under penalty of not more than a $50.00 fine. Any person wishing to engage in such business shall first apply to the Board of Selectmen by application, accompanied by a $50.00 application fee. Treasurer and Clerk collectively designated as the licensing board for a license as a common innkeeper or a victualers’ license. Licenses approved by the Board of Selectmen will be valid for one year. All licenses will expire on April 30 th of each year on or before the first Monday of May of each year and each license so granted shall be valid for one year only upon a payment of a fee of $10.00. Posting of bond prescribed by law and payment of the $1.00 fee required by law. The licensing board Board of Selectmen shall have full authority to revoke or suspend any license after notice and hearing in accordance with laws of Maine. SPECIAL AMUSEMENT ORDINANCE The purpose of this Ordinance is to control the issuance of special permits for music, dancing, or entertainment in facilities licensed by the State of Maine to sell liquor to be consumed on the premises as required in 28-A M.R.S. § 1054. (b) The following definitions shall apply for the purposes of this Ordinance: (i) "Entertainment" shall include any amusement, performance, exhibition or diversion for patrons or customers of the licensed premises, whether provided by professional entertainers or by full-time or part-time employees of the licensed premises whose incidental duties include activities with an entertainment value. (ii) "Licensee" shall include the holder of a liquor license issued under Title 28- A of the Maine Revised Statutes, or any person, individual, partnership, firm, Sec. 1.
